Birthday meal

If you've not been to the Cricketers you're in for a treat. Great food in a traditional English pub takes some beating. All of the food is cooked fresh and the chips are wonderful. The bar is a particularly lovely area to eat, especially in winter when the open fire is alight. The pub is staffed by... read more

Had not been to the Cricketers for a couple of Years, it was a beautiful day, decided to take an hour long trip to have lunch @ the Cricketers, only to find the menu had changed & was uninteresting & pricey. We were hard pushed to find a main course that sounded appetising, so settled for a couple of starters... More

Me and my wife eat at the cricketers on a regular basis and have never been disapointed. Always great food and very friendly service. A great place to take your wife and family.

I have been here several times over the years for the usual reasons; picturesque village setting, good food and the Jamie Oliver connection. The food can be very accomplished and the wine list offers a nice choice but the service can range from professional to abysmal. The reviews below reflect my own experiences. I'm going back again but the thing... More

We were really looking forward to a lunch here. We had booked a table midweek and admittedly arrived ten minutes late for our 12.30 booking but the restaurant was not even half full. We were shown our table by a very sour looking woman. It was not set for four so doubt it was our table but it was in... More

Staying at the Cricketers for a much needed relaxing break, we decided to keep it simple and took one of their dinner bed and breakfast offers. So glad we did as we couldn't fault the quality, choice or quantity of the meals on both days. All fresh local produce and plenty of it, served by friendly helpful staff throughout. Thank... More

Difficult review to write Ambience and service very good. Menu if you like fish pretty good. If you like meat boring and limited. Wine list above average for a pub but you do need to know you wines as the popular names are pricey for a pub. Vegetables served a la 70s in a mixed bowl. Chips in a strange... More

Went over a year ago for the first time with my woman who'd been there many times before, but not in a while. Her memories were of a charming old country pub that served great food (especially the chips!!). Now it was a full blown restaurant and had lost some of it's charm. Well it had certainly lost some of... More

I was taken to the Cricketers for the second time on Father's day, Service and friendliness is very good and they make your lunch feel very intimate despite having plenty of space for many visitors. You do have to book in advance as this place gets very busy. The Food is very good, despite my Rib eye being more like... More
