Very nice food and good service

Very nice food and good service. I was with family for a wedding. We had a group dinner on a Friday night (roughly 15 of us) and breakfast on two mornings as well as a lunch. Dinner and wine was very nice, as were the cooked breakfasts. Plenty of juice and choice of cereal and muesli too. Staff... read more

Lovely decor, friendly welcome, lots of inviting little nooks and crannies, good outdoor space, some parking and more in the village....lots of good things to be said for this pub. It's expensive in pub terms for the food ...I think it was £12.95 for fish and chips...and the quality is ok rather than outstanding but you go for the ambience,... More

The Museum Inn has been my local pub for the past 20 years. We've held many a family get together there and it goes without saying, many a great night has been had in The Museum Inn. So, I find it very hard to have to spend my family time writing this review but could not let this moment pass... More

Whilst some of the dishes were very mediocre others were good. Portion size was erratic. We all ordered starters, the whitebait was very generous for a starter. The asparagus with poached egg just right. I ordered the squid with chilli sauce, what a disappointment - the batter was a bit greasy and the sauce was tomato ketchup with a mere... More

A super lunch with fresh local produce. The staff were attentive and friendly. This was the first time we had been here for many years, but we will make it a regular haunt in the future. Lots of dogs, children too. The only annoying element was the gratuity added on to the bill. I would much rather give how much... More

We called by on an impulse after a day's cycling and were made welcome. The beer is from the local 6d Brewery, and very good. Ambience and decor are excellent. The assistants are pleasant and assiduous ( when I dropped a knife on the floor, before I could pick it up and wipe it on the splendid linen serviette, a... More

We were taken here for dinner by some friends whose local it is. A lovely old building full of character and atmosphere. Dinner was excellent with a good choice of main courses but not too many. A good indicator that the food is fresh and not 'industrial catering pack'! Aoife our waitress was friendly, helpful and full of Irish charm.... More

In the past 6 months we have visited The Museum on a number of occasions - since moving it is now our closest pub. It was always good, solid, decent, friendly - a safe bet that we were looking forward to walking to come the summer time.... With friends coming to visit over the bank holiday weekend I called and... We went to the museum for a friends birthday dinner. My starter was ok asparagus and poached eggs.my main of belly pork was tough and dry! Disappointing. And to finish I had eaten mess, which wasn't great! My husbands meal was not worth the money either. Overall disappointed with our meal.
