Lovely coffee, lovely food, lovely people, lovely interior. If I'd live in Lyme, it would be my daily stop for sure. Try de milkshakes and great sandwiches, and oh the scones!

Finding this cafe as a tourist makes you feel you are in on a local secret. You can have breakfast, a sandwich or baked potato with your choice from a wide range of options, all cooked very nicely. We went three times, largely motivated by the fantastic milkshakes and the charming staff.

Very friendly staff and £3 will get you a large thick tasty milk shake! Also really impressed that although the café closed at 5pm, unknowingly we were sat in the outdoor seating area still enjoying our drinks and there was no sense of urgency to get us out. Definitely recommend a stop off, especially a good stop off point if... More

Had tea, coffee and home made scones in this delightful little cafe. The ambiance and service were excellent. Went back every day to savour the range the fine range of cakes and scones which were all home made and excellent value for money.

We happen to come across this tea room tucked behind the Post Office. We arrived shortly before 3pm on a Saturday afternoon feeling hungry ! This fitted the bill perfectly. A good lunch well presented, tasty and good value. Friendly service.

We are local but don't get out much so haven't been for a while. The cafe is very small and decorated in a vintage style, which somewhat adds to the ambience. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. We sat outside and ordered 2 drinks & 2 light lunches followed by a cream tea. The food was very... More

I am a local and the Penny Black is on my list of regular places to go. I love the jacket potato with melted cheese, ham and salad. They are a lovely friendly family and all of the food is fresh and the daily specials look amazing but I can't get away from the Spud!!! My daughter loves their milk... More

This is an owner run business with a really friendly atmosphere. It seems to be a favourite with the local. It has a fabulous retro theme and great food! We love it!

We enjoyed a cream tea, feta and spinach frittata & our 3 year old had a scrummy homemade vanilla milkshake & caramel & chocolate shortbread which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were welcoming & friendly and although it was pouring with rain we were able to sit outside under a massive umbrella & had a really enjoyable snack. Tucked... More

Great food, great service, friendly staff, nice decor and ambience. What more could you ask for? Breakfast is great, as is lunch. Their cake and afternoon tea is fabulous too. Definitely going back again and again.
