Gorgeous home made cakes

A lovely, quaint little cafe with a friendly owner and some really tasty homemade cakes. Our dog was allowed to accompany us, which made him happy! We had the orange cake which was made with marmalade and was gorgeous. It was warmed up for us and served with clotted cream if we wanted it. yummy... read more

Definitely one for the vintage and wholesome food lovers. Lots of local produce and rustic options served on mis-matched floral china. Also serve lunches - we had chicken curry. Portions perfect size for lunch. Homemade cakes served as large portions

Only found this place due to Tripadvisor. We came for breakfast - big portions, well cooked and the owner was very friendly and was very accommodating with my wife's gluten free requirements. We would definitely eat here again.

We called in today for coffee and scones after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. A great find - lovely welcoming atmosphere and like stepping back in time to a traditional teashop but with modern touches. Such a refreshing change from the high street chains which appear in seaside locations and have no character. Good selection of cakes, crumpets etc. for... More

Fab service in this family run cafe which is in the old post office. We found it quite by accident but it is well worth the little trip up the hill. Fabulously vintage and dog friendly too. Lovely food. Reasonably priced.

I visit Lyme Regis twice a year if I can, and this is my first port of call upon arrival. There have been changes, but the decor remains eclectic, from the fossil wallpaper to the art work and pink flamingo. I appreciate this place, as no fuss is made as my disability has increased and room is always found to... More

After reading the good reviews we decided to give this place a try for breakfast . What a truly wonderful place with such welcoming hospitality. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and washed down with a smashing cuppa in lovely bone China cups. I would recommend everyone to pop in and try for themselves. Thanks penny black cafe. 😃

This is a lovely friendly cosy place for breakfasts, coffees, lunches, afternoon teas, and in between too. The food is excellent and all home cooked, lovely courtyard for summer dining. The family who run it are a delight. It is just like cafes used to be.
