This is one of those places where you think...do I go in or not? What is this place? is it a commune full of hippies? The punters study the sign outside..,,six quid for a bowl made of bread with your choice of filling, and a drink. My advice is to just go in and try it. For my six quid... read more

Went for breakfast here twice, beautiful bread, muesli, jams etc. Really nice friendly staff and great family atmosphere.

Visited the bakery for lunch and absolutely loved the rustic feel and seeing the staff members preparing all the doughs right behind us. We had bread bowls with soup, sausage roll, cheese and leak roll, pizza, salad and coleslaw. Returned the next day for cakes in the afternoon and they didn't disappoint either. Huge pieces of banoffee sponge, Victoria sponge,... More

We had a great lunch here - freshly made pizza for me and an equally freshly baked leek pie for my companion. We sat at a communal table, and found the whole atmosphere very friendly, both with the other customers and the staff. Delicious, and great fun.

Now the decor may not be everyone's cup of tea, being a little bit on the rustic side of shabby chic, but if you can get past appearances and you like delicious home cooked meals which are prepared right in front of you, your like helpful, friendly service, you like a wonderful variety of music to eat to, you like... An unusual experience if it's your first time as it's self service, communal seating and you keep your own tally of what you've eaten and pay on exit so it's largely based on honesty. You can sit and watch the food being baked so you know it's all really fresh. The pizzas are lovely, so are the pain au chocolate... More

Fabulous breakfast at Town Mill Lyme Regis on both Saturday and Sunday. Staff were friendly and helpful. Gorgeous tasting bread, pastries and coffee with great music and a relaxing atmosphere. Pastries are above average in terms of cost, even when compared to London, but worth every penny for the taste and experience of something different in my opinion. A great... More

I was on holiday with a group of friends and we popped in here for lunch. The food was fantastic. We had pizzas, coleslaw and green salad comes with it. We also saw the cakes which are served from 2.30. They all looked fabulous and if the lemon and courgette was anything to go by were delicious. I would definitely... More

Me and my boyfriend found this place whilst on holiday, we walked past a few times (after already eaten) and said that we should have tried there instead, so on our last day we went in for lunch! As we had never been before we didn't know how it worked, we soon picked it up after seeing other customers helping... More

I love the Town Mill Bakery - the sour dough bowls and their apple juice are to die for. A really neat idea and a great addition to Lyme. My only criticism is that although the food is clearly made with love and passion, this is not always reflected by the staff. It would seem that sometimes they get cool,... More
