We visit Lyme on a regular basis as we live just down the road, and it is the first time we have eaten in The Town Mill. What a change to the usual! It's like stepping into a quirky friend's kitchen! You sit on long benches with bowls of butter and kitchen roll and watch the preparation of the soup... More

This quirky place has industrial style long tables and lots of home baked bread ( and pastries and pizzas ) homemade jams and nut butter in big big bowls, fabulous coffee, hot chocolate and tea - boil your own egg - laid back and fabulous

Rarely have I been in a more uncomplicated and inspiring eating place. Everything was about sourdough, two baker boys, a wonderful waiter, an oven and two big tables with benches..... hurrah for simplicity - a must visit in the entire region

Having eaten here many times over the last 2 years it feels as if the place is teetering on the edge and is in need of some better management. The breakfast pastries are delicious, light and huge (slightly expensive though at £2.50) but for example the 2 toasters weren't working properly so the toast (despite repeated attempts) just came out... Clive and Lucy have spent years and all their energies creating the most relaxing and fun fooderie. You can sit for a long breakfast that becomes lunch. Informal but superb food. Good bread and other foods to purchase. Good coffee etc. you do not want to leave

One of the best things about Lyme Regis. The bread and pastries are some of the best I've tasted in the UK. Really lovely atmosphere and general vibe. Laid back and relaxed - boil your own eggs and take a timer back to your table, cut yourself a slice from a freshly-baked loaf and pop it in the toaster, bowls... More

Love to visit this bakery it is always a very special treat. I could almost taste their delicious scones and cheese and herb rolls. I traveled 130 miles to be told they don't do either anymore. What a disappointment I am gutted! Bring them back!
