Lovely food. Tired interior.

The food here was well priced and well cooked. Small but perfectly formed menu. Decor is a bit iffy. More cafe than restaurant. Service friendly but waitresses keen to tidy up and appeared to do a deep clean whilst we were still eating. Bin bags carried through etc. that said would go back.

Really very disappointed with the food, the menu was just too small with not enough to choose from. The prices were quite high so we expected excellent quality which unfortunately we didn't get. My feeling was that they tried too hard for the plate to look presentable (which it did) but the ingredients just didn't match up to the pretentious... More

My wife and I visted again in the week before easter and the food and service was up to the usual high standard that we have experienced on previous visits. We appreciate the smallish menu as it means they can cope but we always find something to try. It's a nice quiet restaurant in a quite location which suits us... More

The starter of duck was delightful, we were left extremely disappointed by the rotten seafood that was served for the main. The meatballs were tough and the spaghetti was undercooked. All basic stuff. Nice staff who were keen to help when we complained but rotten seafood shouldn't have made it as far as the plate.

We were undecided where to book but are delighted we chose the millside. The food was delicious, hot and plentiful. The wine was reasonably priced. The service was very good and the whole experience was good value for money. Will certainly book again when we next visit Lyme.

We discovered this lovely family run cafe whilst walking to the sea front from the car park. It's near the riverside walk and what a find. Home cooked quality food and the three cooked chips are to die for. Avoid the seafront cafes and find this lovely place instead, you won't be disappointed.

I have to say that Lyme Regis seems to me to be very much a tourist trap - finding a cafe/restaurant that provides a decent meal for a reasonable price in a pleasant location and with more internal space than the average garden shed is not easy. We came across the Millside by accident. Several good points - service was... More

It's 5 years since our last trip to Lyme Regis & The Millside Restaurant. We were eager to revisit & were not disappointed! Phoning the day before, for a table on the Saturday of Easter weekend was chancing our arm. But we secured a 6.30pm table, which had another booking for 8.15pm but the timing suited us & we enjoyed... More
