We recently visited what I can only describe the place as a cafe rather than a restaurant. My sister had booked in advance for my dad's 70th birthday. We were having a family gathering in the area as we are rarely in the same country. Going on trip advisors ratings the mill was chosen for a birthday meal for 6... More

Not quite the gem that the reviews on Tripadvisor might have suggested. The restaurant has probably seen better days and feels as if it's in a bit of a time-warp. Tatty decor (e.g. patched carpets) suggest a lack of investment. Piped musak slightly degrades the ambiance, and even though not too intrusive, just feels so last millennium. Food quality/value was... More

We were a party of 6 adults and 3 kids for Sun lunch seated in the less formal part of the restaurant. I had pre booked. Overall we decided the lunch was a bit of a disapointment as after ordering we were told there was no tomato sauce for kids pasta so we got a plate of spag with grated... More

We were attracted by the specials - Hake fillet and whole Plaice, and both were excellent. Simple accompaniments, onion mash and greens with the Hake, triple cooked chips and salad leaves with the Plaice. The rest of the menu looked fine, and the restaurant was full on a Saturday night. Good service, and lovely bread!

I had lunch with a friend a couple of days ago. The food and service were both very good indeed. The restaurant area is very nicely set out.

We ate here in the evening, there are 2 parts to the restaurant and our side was all couples and virtually full! The food was really very good and not too expensive, we had Terrine(£7) and Scallops(£8) for starters - both really good. For main we had slow roasted neck fillet of Lamb(£18) and slow roasted Pork Belly(£19). For pudding... More

I visited with family and friends who have a holiday home in Lyme on Sunday. It was my first visit to Lyme and the Millside is set in a really nice revamped mill area with interesting shops, a microbrewery and art gallery. The restaurant benefits from this context, and is a very attractive building in its own right with some... More

My hubby and I enjoyed a lovely evening meal here last week while on holiday in Lyme. The service was excellent despite there being a large party in the main restaurant. The cassis cremé brule was amazing - one of the best I have eaten! Will certainly return.

We originally weren't going to eat here as the reviews were mixed, but the place looked so nice and the menu appealed so we succumbed. We are very glad that we did. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The main restaurant room itself was small and cosy. The food was fresh, beautifully cooked, nicely flavoured and well presented. We... More

The menu choices have been changed since last year, the pasta dishes had disappeared, certainly at lunchtime. It was a far less superior menu than in previous years and I did not truly enjoy it. It took a long time to prepare, and reach our table too. The restaurant is placed not far from the actual mill, itself, and it... More
