The menu choices have been changed since last year, the pasta dishes had disappeared, certainly at lunchtime. It was a far less superior menu than in previous years and I did not truly enjoy it. It took a long time to prepare, and reach our table too. The restaurant is placed not far from the actual mill, itself, and it... More

Im going to start with the food, I had scallops and black pudding unfortunately the black pudding was clearly pre cut as it was dry and tasteless, the scallops were nice the sweetcorn puree not a hint of seasoning. My main was a double portion of mussels from the starter menu, mussels were fresh but the sauce just tasted of... More

The menu was extremely limited (and expensive) and we were surprised by the lack of sea food options considering the location. Staff were nice but when your charged £5 for bread and olives it was a bit odd to be offered one or two quarters of sliced focaccia, We chose this for our last night and it was just rather... More

Had an extremely good meal at this quaint little restaurant. Rump steak and the speciality board serving of Hake. The meal was extremely good, Hake was a little wet inside, would have been better if a little stiffer and not so wet. Service was attentive, however couldn't understand why each time a different waitress attended to our needs. I wouldn't... More

We had a most enjoyable meal at the Millside. The restaurant is situated a few minutes walk away from the main street, in a picturesque area including a working mill and galleries. The food was well presented and excellently cooked. I had the rump steak and my wife the grilled cod, both of which were very tasty. The staff are... More

It's a wet bank holiday Monday, and lots of people are looking for a refuge, the Millside only had its small room open with 4 and a 1/2 tables. It's bigger dining room was not open, which was a shame cos it forced some customers to sit on the terrace even though the weather was dreadful. Food was really good,... More

Excellent food and exceptional service. We had catch of the day and as I'm gluten free asked for some adjustments, the staff didn't hesitate and the changes definitely didn't impact the flavour. Wow what a fabulous meal, we live near London and this restaurant could rival some of the best in London and at a fraction of the cost. Can't... More

There are many average restaurants in this small seaside town (as there are in many British seaside towns) but this one rises above and really seems to want you to come back again. The service was perfect, and the food (meat and food dishes) was very competently cooked.

Stopped by for a cream tea. Very good , nice scones jam and clotted cream with a plenty of tea. Worth a visit. Nice place to sit and watch the world go by .
