The Sportsmans Arms has the best carvery we have ever had and it is one of the first places we head for when in the area, but bear in mind that the carvery is only available Fri, Sat and Sunday. They also have a menu and a daily specials board and we can recommend all the meals, never had a... More

Excellent choice of 3 meats and large variety of vegetables in a pleasant country pub. Reasonably priced and all produce locally sourced. Delicious.

We stopped off at the Sportsmans last Wednesday lunchtime. Everyone in our party was delighted with their meal. The portions were excellent. The person who chose the Steak Pie complained that the mashed potato was the largest amount he had seen on a single plate! The Tribute Beer is highly recommended by those who drank it. Go and you won't... More

Visited during our cottage stay in dittisham. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very unhappy barmaid. We sat down for our meal and everything on the menu look delicious. I decided to go for the rump steak. The lady serving the food was very pleasent. My rump steak came out how I had asked for it (medium-rare) but was... More

Stopped in today for a carvery having pre-booked a table (recommended as they fill up quickly). Well maintained pub with decent selection of drinks. Didn't see a menu so can't comment on other food but thr carvery had a decent amount of seasonal veg and the meats on offer were beef, turkey and pork. You can ask for a bit... More

We visited this great pub with friends and their 3 dogs .Two of us had the 8oz sirloin steak which was sourced from a local farm , we both agreed this was probably the best steak we had ever had. It was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth full of flavour. The other two had the roast turkey which... More

Staff at this pub were very friendly. The food is excellent such a choice in meats and vegetables All home cooked and nothing was to much trouble. Would recommend this to anyone , the only thing we didn't see was disabled toilets there are steps inside and can be cramped around the bar area of busy. Overall EXCELLENT .

We were staying at a nearby campsite and decided to go to this pub because it was raining and we all wanted a big hot meal! We hadn't booked a table, and hadn't realised how popular this place is so we were a bit panicked when we arrived and spoke to the staff who said that it was usually a... More

We popped in here as a party of six including two children aged 6 and 4 whilst attending the Dartmouth Regatta. It was surprisingly quiet and we were greeted warmly and told we could sit anywhere. Food was hot, reasonably quick for freshly cooked food and tasty. The portion sizes were excellent, cod and chips was split into three sizes... More
