The owner and chef of this restaurant produces top class service and food. Everything tasted fresh and expertly prepared. The menu is a little sophisticated, but perfectly accessible, and was actually a welcome change. The menu represented fair value considering the high standard provided. Careful attention has been paid to the cosy interior and décor, and the restaurant is relaxed... More

We had a very good meal at the Normandy Arms. The food and service were very good indeed, and well presented. The pork belly and cod mains were excellent, and the stilton mousse starter very good. Chocolate cheesecake and treacle tart were also excellent. Highly recommended.

There is a lovely atmosphere at this country pub which is tastefully decorated, the owners are welcoming and friendly, there is a nice choice of food on the menu and all four of us enjoyed our meals, the food was fresh and tasty and nicely presented and the service was good! There is a nice choice of wines and cocktails... More

In the middle of nowhere this little pub sits. The welcome we had was delightful, including the neighbour's cat sitting in the sofa by the fire. It is run by a delightful couple, she works front of house and he cooks - and my can he cook! The food is delicious. I suppose my only worry is that the prices... More

We spent two nights here and it was a real teat. The Normandy Arms has 3 comfortable rooms above a lovely pub restaurant: log fires in the bar and about 16-20 spaces in the dining room. The pub is in the village of Blackawton, deep in the South Hams countryside. We ate one night in the restaurant and this is... More

This had been on a list of places we'd wanted to try for a while, and we are very glad we did. It's not easy to find mind you, which is part of its charm and more of a restaurant than a cosy pub. But the food was delicious. Some of the best fish I've eaten for a while. A... More

We ate here last night (16 th) after a short trip from Strete, 3.5 miles, but the road got narrower and more bendy as we got nearer Blackawton, and that was in daylight, going back in the dark was a whole load of fun, not! Next time I would take the A3122 out of Dartmouth and take the Blackawton turn... More

Oh, the wonder of google and tripadvisor! Having settled on Blackawton for accommodation handy for Dartmouth, we then discovered the Normandy Arms in the same hidden backwater. The restaurant was quiet (the England Rugby match was on), but such a friendly greeting as walked in was much appreciated. The menu is simply structured; with a single price (with a few... More
