Fresh fish and great chips. Pot of tartare sauce good too. We sat in the sunshine with a glass of wine and ate our food. Worth a visit.

We went to Stein's Fish & Chips when we were in Padstow. We sat inside the restaurant as I didn't want to share my lunch with the hungry gulls !!! We ordered Haddock & chips, Lemon Sole & chips, Mushy peas and two Coke's. The food was all cooked to order and was piping hot, the fish was very fresh... More

We visited after a day at Newquay zoo during our weeks holiday as we have done for the last 6 years. The best recommendation I can say is when grandad ( me ) asked the grandkids if they were good fish and chips only nodding heads could be seen. .. too busy eating to speak

So pleased we queued up for this, didn't really take long but was certainly worth the wait. The scallops were to die for, and the fish and chips - best I have ever eaten. The only negative as its quite smoky from the cooking oil, could do with some better ventilation!

When you are paying an extra couple of quid from a so called "celebrity" chef the least I would expect is for the skin to removed from the fillet of cod. It tasted just liked any other chippy but more expensive. I've never been let down when eating from restaraunts etc from chefs with "celebrity" status but Rick Stein managed... More

Made a special trip to have the fish and chips. Got the food but very expensive. The takeaway was packed as was the restaurant. No ware outside to sit and was tackling seagulls to have my food. Nice food though but not worth over the odds.

Having heard rave reviews about this place. 3 of us opted to go have fish and chips. Having seeing the extoriate prices for types of fish we opted for chips x3 . Yes we appreciate the name. But the prices are ridiculous because of the name. The service was slow . One to order and one to collect. The queue... More

Doing the tourist thing around Padstow we came to Steins emporium in the harbour and looked round his shop etc. Of course everyone wants fish and chips by the sea front so decided to eat here. The line for the restaurant was crazy so we joined the take away line which moved relatively quickly. I'm glad we did as we... More

We visit Padstow every year and we could never leave without having Steins fish and chips (usually twice over the week). The fish is delicious.
