Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow.

Our fish is coated in our homemade batter and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.

The Rick Stein empire continues to pull the crowds who seem happy to pay for overpriced fish and chips. Several different types of fish on offer at inflated prices. Lots of yummy mummy types queue here and then eat their meal in their Range Rover to avoid the seagulls. There was nothing amazing about the fish or the chips.

Really good fish and chips - we got takeaway and ate it overlooking the harbour despite being somewhat preyed upon by the local seagulls!

On the way back from St Ives, we decided to pop into Padstow. With my husbands’s on-going quest for good fish and chips we figured Rick Stein’s chippy had to be the best place to try. We didn’t have time to take up the tempting sit-down special offer, so just bought cod, chips and mushy peas to take away. What... More

On a day out from our home on the south coast of Cornwall we decided to make a long awaited return to Padstow where we have spent many happy holidays, pre-Padstein days. We have never previously eaten at a Rick Stein establishment!!! We decided to give the Stein's Fish and Chip place a try for lunch. We ordered the set... More

The Winter Warmer special offer is a real bargain. £7.95 for cod and chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea is fantastic value. There were plenty of other interesting options like chilli fish burgers and a good children's menu. The restaurant is a bit noisy and the hard wooden benches don't encourage you to linger but the food... More

What a great place to eat. The portion sizes are not as big as you would get in your local chippy but they are pretty decent, we had a winter deal which was quite reasonably priced at approx £9 for fish chips and a half of local beer. We were very happy with the food, service and overall experience.

Went yesterday with family for fish & chips etc. fish & chips lovely but had ordered bread & butter as an extra, was expecting for the money some freshly cut bread with butter, got a slightly stale slice of packet bread, bit of a let down. Everything else was good.

We visited here in Feb 2015 while biking from Bodmin to Padstow on the camel trail. We popped in and there was a winter deal on, fish and chips and peas with pot of tea was cheaper and was bloody delicious!! Ok not the best I have ever had but Im not going to complain, it went down lovely!

So if you are in the area you need to go to here, that is what I was told. Yes it was good, yes it was fresh but the portions were quite small for the price you would normally pay (we had the winter deal which made it ok in price) and the fact that you have to pay over... More
