Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow. Our fish is coated in our homemade batter and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.

I think my favorite bit was the amazing tartar sauce?! It was just amazing, the best fish and chips I've ever had. I wish we could replicate it up north!!!

A 20 minute queue outside to get a table for fish and chips for 8 of us but once we were seater the service was excellent and the food was worth the wait. There was a winter offer on fish chips and a cup of tea for £6.95

I visited Stein ' s fish and chips after a walk discovering Padstow harbour with my family and two dogs. Each portion is freshly cooked as ordered. The fish and chips are deep fried in beef dripping resulting in delicious crispy chips but fluffy on the inside. The battered fish is cooked to perfection and the batter light and crispy.... More

We enjoyed the winter special (£6.95 for cod and chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea) a few nights ago. The service was efficient and friendly and the portions were a good size. Sitting on long benches along with other customers and eating from a cardboard containers made it a cheap and cheerful experience. To be recommended.

Having visited Padstow on many occasions we decided to finally have Ricks fish and chips when we visited on 25th March during a 4 day stay. We were surprised to see they were doing a Winter Offer and had fish and chips and bread and butter for £6.25 each eating in. It was fabulous. Freshly cooked and very well presented.... More

We ended up going here twice during our stay. The cod and chips are really good. Each time we did takeaway as the restaurant is alway busy.

I know the chips and fish here are very expensive but the quality is as you would expect the service quick ....we sat down on large table which we shared with other people. They have highchairs see you feel a little bit like a baby and they're hard to move but it was comfortable and very enjoyable and you just... More

We planned especially to come here after a busy morning of coastal walking near Padstow, as we had heard Rick Stein's fish and chips are the best. We had built up an appetite for it! It was a Wednesday at 1.30pm and we were lucky there was no queue for the take-away part (cheaper to take out than sit in),... More
