I told a work colleague I was going Cornwall and she recommended this place to me about 20times throughout that day, which must of over hyped it in my head... It was the first place me and my other half visited during our long weekend in Cornwall and it was good fish and chips and good service, just wasn't the... More

And it was, we just had a carry out and the chips were literally to die for, after a portion I probably need to see the Cardiac Guy but hey ho you only live once and death by chips would be funny on the Death Certificate. Seriously, Really Good shame they ONLY do fish........

As I did not have a lot of time left after visiting the harbour etc, I went for a takeaway, and as it was pourinf of rain, the lovely staff let me stay inside. I did not want a large meal as the coach I was travelling on had reserved a Cornish tea, so I decided on battered oyster (... More

Until late March there is a special lunch offer of fish (cod, decent size), chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea - all for £6.95. Terrific value and very tasty, it is served in a cardboard box but you do get real cutlery and the atmosphere is "café" rather than "chippy". As it is cooked to order there... More

Delicious. Beat the queue if you can, if not, it's worth it anyway. As with most things Stein, there's a bit of a premium to pay, but we found the quality to be very high and would be happy to return.

Wonderful fish and chips - we had the Cod - cooked in beef dripping, as good as it gets. We had battered and fried oysters and scallops to start, they were delicious and I can't think of anywhere else I have been where a fish and chip restaurant/takeaway offers the choices available here. Not cheap, but very very good

And a wonderful review – thank you very much. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the variety on our menu and thought the oysters and scallops were delicious. We always cook our fish and chips in beef dripping which has always been popular (but we can cook them in vegetable oil on request). More

I gave this feedback to Stein's via their website first to give them a chance to respond. After no reply after 12 days I feel it is fair to post here. Very disappointed... We have regularly visited Stein's Fish and Chip Shop since it opened; at least twice a year and last night's visit was, to be honest, terrible. Had... More

We went to Steins Fish and Chips after a walk on the beach with friends. The restaurant is really lovely although I am not a fan of sharing tables especially when there are children. The staff were friendly and chatty. The fish and chips were OK but I have had better in run of the mill "chippies". £6 for 10... More

Came here in winter with some friends. We had a variety of things but all the different fish were superb, chips were delicious and the puds are great, albeit a bit rich. Onion rings were a tad greasy. Staff are really friendly, kids options are available

The fish and chips are lovely as long as you like beef dripping. I think they are the best and really well cooked batter. Staff were preoccupied and seemed a bit disorganised but got there in the end!
