Unfortunately unable to comment on the food as hardly made it through the front door. I arrived with my 2 year old son and elderly mother on a Thursday morning to enquire if I could make a reservation for the very same evening. I was informed by the staff that unfortunately there were no tables available within the restaurant however,... More

We had a large family group and some of us cycled there from Wadebridge. The food was really excellent and lived up to Stein's reputation. However, my wife broke a tooth filling on a piece of lobster shell left in the Lobster salad.I had the best mussels i have ever had done in a mild curry sauce.

We had lunch here. Very small and quite cramped. Food was good but average. Service good but not outstanding. Okay but better places in town.

Visited Padstow with my wife and In-Laws (from Russia) and decided to treat them to a nice lunch at Rick Stein's Cafe. I have to say we were all left a little disappointed as well as leaving most of the food. All i can say is it was extremely average....!!! The service however was excellent and couldn't wish for a... We went to Rick Stein as a treat after completing 78 Miles of the South West Coast Path. The meal was the best of the fortnight, and certainly one to remember. We had the set 3 Course Meal and chose the Sea Bass that was a "special" that night. It was delicious! the whole fish, served with rice and Pak... More

We was on a short break to Cornwall and popped into Padstow... Whilst shaking round we saw Rick Steins Cafe ..managed to get a table that night, we were very surprised. Arrived for our 21.00 table and was seated nice and early. Food was lovely and had a nice 3 course set meal. I unfortunately am not a fish eater... More

Recommended our friends who were also staying in Padstow join us for a meal at the bistro as we have always enjoyed the food and ambience. We were not disappointed. The set menu is really good & excellent value too. We all had fish as a starter (prawns & cod goujons) & rib-eye steaks which were cooked to perfection. Service... More

We decided to give Rick Stein's Café a try on impulse for our anniversary as we've not been over impressed with 'celebrity chef' restaurants previously. It was the best meal of our week in Padstow. We opted for the set price three course dinner which was absolutely lovely. The staff were fabulous - very helpful and friendly and they went... More

Staying two weeks in Padstow gave us ample opportunity to sample the majority of the restaurants. We prefer eating our main meal at lunchtime and that also means you benefit from lunch set menus and less need to book. We tried the Cafe on a Sunday and at 12 noon when it opened there were only a few diners and... More

I nicked that title from another review but it sums up this restaurant. The food is excellent and good value for money. You must book in advance (like all the good places in Padstow). The dining room is a little crowded and the tables a little small for 4. Recommended.

We thought that title sounded familiar! It’s great to hear the food was excellent and good value and sorry if it was a little crowded. More
