Our third or fourth visit and it did not disappoint.....I had the hake with spring onion mash and soy butter sauce which was without doubt one of the best meals I have ever tasted! My companion had the Miso salmon with egg noodles which she enjoyed thoroughly. We finished with the treacle tart which was perfect. As usual the staff... More

More casual than the seafood restaurant but just as good. Moules frites as good as any in Belgium - the home of the dish. The bread was especially good. Pleasant atmosphere with very reasonable prices

Marvellous value, unfussy and tasty. The staff were very busy but attentive . Of the 10 people in the room 9 had the mussels which were local, and cooked simply in white wine the frites were nice and thin. After lunch go for a walk along the camel estuary. Head towards Wadebridge on the disused railway line, it's good under... More

Thanks for the lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your moules frites and a glass of wine and that the staff looked after you well. We do agree, the Camel Trail is beautiful and perfect for a walk on a sunny afternoon. More

We ate here last night at the end of a week of some excellent meals in Padstow. This was our farewell meal and naturally bearing the name of the man who has done more for the food industry in Padstow than most, our expectations were high. The place was busy but we were unaware when we booked on line that... More

Thank you for your feedback and we are very pleased to hear that your wife’s curry was excellent but we are sorry if the hake did not meet your expectations and that the service was not as we would expect. We have passed your comments on to both our Head Chef and, Matthew our Restaurant Manager, and do hope you... More

We went to the cafe for lunch. Having our 3 month old in a push chair with us, we were a bit worried as we saw the sign on the door said no push chairs (due to space). After having a word with the staff they were very good and allowed us to bring the car seat inside and leave... More

Not the largest cafe in the world, and I can image in the summer months it's a real struggle to get a table. However, what makes this place is the staff .... Really friendly waitress, smiley, chatty and excellent service. Liked this place very much!

We visited the cafe during a weeks holiday in Cornwall. We are regular visitors to the area but have never had the opportunity to go to the cafe. We went with our 10 month old baby and were offered a warm welcome. The food was delicious and presented very well. The staff were polite and friendly. Well worth a lunch... More

The one star review reflects the fact that this is supposed to be a Stein establishment which prides itself on delivering quality food. We were travelling from Exeter and I decided to book supper well in advance at the cafe as a birthday surprise for my husband. He was attending the Thai course the following day at the Stein's cookery... More

We are sorry to hear your husband was disappointed with his curry at our Café. We have passed your comments on to both the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager. We pride ourselves on our high standard of food and we obviously fell short on this occasion for which we apologise. We do hope you will give us another try so... More
