A delicious lunch at No 6, we had the set menu the cod main was rally good as was the complimentary bread with smoked cods roe. Our waitress Hannah was charming and very informative regarding the dishes. The restaurant had a wonderfully calm atmosphere on a warm afternoon. Enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish.

Had been told that this restaurant was amazing and was 'celebrating' a 'horrid' big birthday, so needed somewhere that was so so special - and it was! From booking, to reception, to table, to ordering and TO THE FOOD - out of this world!!

I cannot fault this restaurant. The home-made sour dough and cod's roe topped with crackling was delicious, as were the mackerel starter and pork main course. The strawberry trifle and tinned chocolates were heavenly. Our waitress found chips for our 5 year old (despite them not being on the kids' menu) and was extremely accommodating in taking the chocolate out... More

Loved the soft homely interior. The service was excellent friendly softly spoken waitresses. The food was sensational . The complimentary bread starter was unexplainay hard.. very hard that I only just managed to eat. But after that everything was wonderful. Certainly worthy of all the accolades it has achieved. The staff were clearly working very hard in a dedicated team.... More

We enjoyed this restaurant but found the tiny room in which we dined warm and stuffy (hot) which made the experience less pleasant than it might have been. The first courses, salmon for one and mackerel for the other were delicious. Both had cod for main. It was good but not outstanding. Dessert -- strawberries and cream, also good but... More

We went here for a birthday treat and having done most of the 'special' (or does that mean expense? , both I guess) restaurants in Cornwall this was the only one outstanding. Being local you have a different view of restaurants in Cornwall, perhaps a bit more critical. Anyway we went for lunch and were first in at 12noon. It... More

We first visited No 6 at least 4/5 years ago, before Paul Ainsworth ever appeared on the TV and we have been many times since but the last visit was the best. The food has always been good but it is now even better - especially the bread ( my expectations from a meal do tend to start with the... More
