Lunch at St Petroc's

Lunch by a open fire on a wet windy day. For most of our lunch we were the only people there so it was in the main a pleasant peaceful lunch. The open fire crackling beside us was wonderful. For starters we had sardines and soup which were delicious and for our main we both had Ray wing - it... read more

What a lovely little hotel. Part of the "Stein Empire" maybe, but the staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and made you feel like you were their only guests. They clearly love working for the the Stein family, which oozes out into the service they give to guests. The food was fab of course!

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves on a short break away in Cornwall. The restaurant is a lovely place to eat, the service was great, the waiting staff we had couldn't have been nicer, very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the food was a let down. My wife had the pork terrine to start which was lovely but the... More

Don't leave Padstow without eating here! Small and personal. Lovely attentive staff, superb food and wine and not over priced.

Had an evening meal here last Saturday. Oh dear Mr Stein. I think you need to get back in the kitchen and teach your chefs how to toast bread for a bruchetta. I'm sure it shouldn't be black. This spoilt the topping as all I could taste was the burnt bread. My husbands scallops had what appeared to be prawn... More

We arrived half an hour early but the staff were very good and our table was ready , we ordered drinks and were given our menus , it took a while for our order to be taken but once our food came it was well worth the wait , the pigeon was fantastic and so were the scallops . It... More

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime in February. We had our dog in tow so were seated in the small cost bar, which in essence became our private dining room. Although small it was comfortable, with space for just us and another couple who were due to arrive later with their dogs. For those who don't relish the thought of dining... More

So it's not just seafood that the Rick Stein gastro empire can cook. They also cook quite superb steaks as witnessed by us when having dinner here in January. The Chateaubriand was so good I didn't even have any of the wonderful sauce on it - the meat alone tasted fantastic and cooked to perfection. Good value as well as... More

We travelled to Padstow for a friends 50th birthday celebrations. St Petrocs Bistro was booked for the birthday lunch. we were greeted by very friendly staff and looked after by a lovely lady who advised us of great wines from the menu and what to order from the extensive food menus. We had a party of ten and were seated... More

We stayed 2 nights at Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant with breakfast and dinner included. The first night was at St Petrocs Bistro. Food was lovely as were the staff. Good value too.
