Description: The (tiny) tea garden is at the back of the two hundred year old 'Coastguard Houses' at Hawkers Cove, on the Coastal Path, 150m from the slipway at Hawkers Cove beach and enjoys fantastic views across the Doom Bar and mouth of the Camel Estuary, to Polzeath and Daymer Bay. We serve hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, quiches and pies, homemade soups, filled jacket potatoes, made to order sandwiches, cream teas, ice creams and various snacks.(Our cream teas and our crab sandwiches are getting rave reviews). We have also started baking our own Gluten Free scones, so can now offer possibly the best gluten free cream tea in Cornwall. The tea garden is, literally, a garden, with no inside seating and is consequently very 'weather dependent' so if the weather is at all 'unsettled', we would advise that you phone ahead to make sure that we are open. The tea garden will be open 7 days a week (weather permitting) from Easter to October. This year we will be closed from 1st October to 17th October, due to family committments, opening again on Saturday 18th October through to Saturday 1st November, weather permitting. Unfortunately we don't have any parking facilities, so suggest that you park in the car park and walk along the coast path, or park on the road to Hawkers Cove and walk down the hill, (approx 500m). We accept most Credit/Debit Cards. Please come and see us.... You will be made most welcome!

We stopped here for a quick coffee on our coastal walk. The coffee was lovely - I wish we'd had room for cakes as the ones that other customers were eating looked lovely.

Thanks for the lovely review! We use Lavazza Coffee, one of the best in Italy and very popular worldwide. There is always room for cakes..... You didn't try hard enough. We look forward to your next visit, when you must try some for yourself. (Don't worry, Cornish calories don't count!) IMPORTANT NOTICE.... Due to family commitments we will be closing... More

This was a good stop off point on our walk. It was a hot day and we all needed a rest. We stopped off for tea and coffee and the dog to rest her legs. There is a good selection of foods and drinks and a nice location. There are no official toilets but if you ask nicely and put... More

Called in on the way back to Padstow after a 7 mile walk. Had a fantastic cream tea with amazing views of the estuary. Don't be off by idea of having tea in someone's garden! The scones were wonderfully fresh, jam & clotted cream extremely tasty, the tea was very refreshing & the hosts extremely welcoming. Amazing place which is... More

Thanks for the lovely review! I’m so glad that you enjoyed your visit to our tiny tea garden. Our Cream Teas are getting rave reviews! We think that we have got the scones just right now after mixing and matching a few different recipes, to create our own. We use Cornish butter, Cornish eggs and Cornish buttermilk in our recipe... Another visit whilst on my holiday. Yet again busy but the friendly atmosphere and shared tables make this place. Service from the kitchen window is unusual but hey it takes all sorts. Crab sandwich was great and service yet again with a smile. I love this little gem!

Walking between Padstow and Stepper Head this cafe is just a 100m or so past the old lifeboat station and operates from the back of someone's back kitchen into a small but colourful back garden. Prices very reasonable and just at a point when you need a cuppa if walking either from Trevone or Padstow usually open till about 4:30pm... More

Walked from Padstow with 3 young children, a great stop off for a sugar break with amazing views. The best carrot cake ever (so say the children).

What a great place! We walked here from Trevone along the coast path and were well rewarded when we arrived. The food and drinks were excellent and the view spectacular. Watch out if you arrive at peak times, there aren't many seats. Also worth noting that there aren't any loos nearby... although we were invited to use the loo in... More
