We called here whilst on our holidays. We called late one evening for drinks - we were made to feel welcome and landlord "Pete" was happy to engage us in conversation. The drinks were reasonably priced and they had a large selection. Dogs are also welcome, which is a bonus!

Whilst my wife was deciding what to eat I paid a visit to the toilets. The pub could not be faulted for a previous user leaving them dirty but the total lack of toilet paper was avoidable and if you will excuse the pun an inconvenience to say the least. Having seen the toilets we decided against risking the food.... More

Great pub, full of memorabilia but the food was very disappointing. We ordered 2 rump steaks with all the trimmings. Cold sad breaded mushrooms and onion rings, tough stringy steak and frozen chips. £30 wasted. Can someone tell me where to get a decent meal around Padstow without paying extortionate prices?

Loved this pub, great food, great traditional atmosphere. We loved all the history on the walls. Staff friendly and a good mix of visitors and locals

Traditional Inn/Pub full of character and characters! Didn't get around to trying the food but it seemed popular with hearty pub favourites and local seafood in decent portions. Has a single table at the front and heated raised beer decking that get the last rays of sunshine (only other sundowner place to sit is at the Golden Lion).

I have been visiting Padstow for many years and have visited this pub many times. We decided to visit again with some friends who was visiting Padstow for the first time and we were not disappointed. The pub its self offers a great range of real ales which pleased my husband and his friend, we were seated in the restaurant... More

We chose to stop here as we ideally wanted a traditional pub that sold sea food. On arrival it took a long time to get served, and whilst I could see that the pub was busy, the man behind the bar seemed far from in a hurry to get people served so took longer than I would anticipate. Also there... More

This pub does not try to be anything it isn't. No trace of nasty tourism here. Lots of local photographs and memorabilia. The food isn't fantastic but its alright, better than average pub grub. A lovely cosy retreat from the packed streets of Padstow

Spent four days in Padstow and discovered this pub on last night….shame,it was the best we found, with visitors and local people enjoying it. The hand pump beer was good so we decided to eat there and ordered a "trio of fish" from the special board. What arrived was a bit of a surprise-nicely cooked fish, proper chips and very fresh salad…..this meal...
