We had a last minute break to Padstow for a few days and The Basement was recommended to us by a number of locals that we talked to. We were not to be disappointed! The food was just incredible; great presentation and taste, whilst not compromising in quantity! Everything was at a reasonable price and we were able to relax... More

After spending five fantastic nights in Padstow, this was the best meal we had. Very enjoyable, great staff. It was even better than Rick Steins.

Having spent the afternoon cleaning and packing prior to leaving Padstow, this was the perfect place to end a fantastic holiday! Staff were attentive, but not overly so, and very accommodating on our request to move outdoors for pudding. The heated outdoor area is surprisingly warm and pudding on the sofas looking over a quiet rainy harbour was a pretty... More

Forget the big name try this one in The Drang. Excellent meal as usual. We have never been disappointed by this little restaurant. Out of season by a week and so pleasant. Michele our waitress gave impeccable service and the food was perfect.

We came across this restaurant on the last day of our holiday unfortunately. We were looking for a breakfast restaurant which allowed dogs. The staff were extremely welcoming and the English Breakfast was very good. The quality of the ingredients was very high, the coffee was great quality too.

My wife, daughter and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch yesterday. Perfect mussels to start followed by delicious roast beef, crispy roast potatoes and the biggest Yorkshire pudding I've ever seen ! Chocolate mousse to finish which was smooth and creamy...yummy ! Service was also excellent. Great place and great value. Excellent wine list as well !

Have eaten a great Sunday lunch here , so I was determined this time to eat Dinner, and I was not disappointed the meal was delicious and the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I was also pleased that the emphasis was on local produce including the delicious Camel Valley Wine. Would certainly eat here again .

We visited The Basement on a Saturday evening just out of season so we're very lucky to find that they had a table available. The service was excellent. The waiter was really, but not overly, attentive and was very knowledgable and passionate about the menu. The 'outdoor' seating area is great for people watching or just generally just admiring the... More

After a weekend in South East Cornwall we took the long route home via Padstow and stopped in the Basement for a coffee and late breakfast. We can thoroughly recommend it, the breakfast was of a high quality well cooked and service very efficient. Would certainly go back for an evening meal.
