Popped in for a coffee and had a sandwich. The sandwich was well filled and the coffee nice. But the place lacked atmosphere, this was a shame. This could be a lot better with different décor to help with the lack of atmosphere.

I have been going to Wells-Next-The-Sea for over 20 years now and I can honestly say this is just the best café I have had the pleasure of coming across. You can sit inside or enjoy the lovely sunshine outside with a variety of hot or cold drinks or a cake or two.The café is very clean the staff are... More

One of the main things I look for in a cafe is some clean toilets. This cafe doesn't have any and insists that there is no law saying it had to.

Nice snacks and grounds. good staff. Inside sitting on little stools not ideal, but in wet weather there is no option to sit outside.

On a rainy half term there was just a little place to enjoy a warm with coffee and a cake. The lovely shop attached had a fantastic selection to suit all budgets with no rubbish in sight. Such a lovely place to have a break on your tour of the town.

We were the only people and yet we still had to serve ourselves. There was no loo. The coffee was horrible. The staff just stood chatting with no interest in providing a service. We will not return.

We called in for a coffee but would have been tempted. Despite the place being empty and there being two members of staff, we had to carry out coffee to the table. The coffee was from a poorly kept machine and tasted horrible. Never again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We arrive to find a clean place to have a cup of coffee and cake. Only 2 people there but we were told the reason which could not have been help or avoided at short notice. Services was very good and met with a smile. And the Lavendar cake was lovely. We will be going back again.

We came across this place as we decided to have a ride out to Wells-next-the-Sea, and after shopping etc felt a bit peckish, this was the only cafe that had free tables. We purchased two rolls, one with crab and the other crayfish, both rolls had fresh salad inside and the bread was lovely and fresh. We were served by... More

We visited the Mermaid's Purse on a miserable Friday in April. Being four adults and a 2.5 year old we searched hard for a suitable cafe in Wells - the deli on the front would have been first choice but they had almost run out of sandwiches; several others had signs stating 'No Pushchairs' which didn't suggest they were going...
