Poor value and no loo

Looks nice but very expensive, we had two rolls which are basic with no garnish what so ever, two bags of crisps, and a pot of tea for two which you just get two small cups out all for £13-50. Ivasked for the loo and was directed to the top of the village and across the top,be warned you can spend... read more

I thought there was a legal requirement for establishments which have indoor seating, and which serve food, to provide customer toilets. I clearly must be wrong. However being curt and off hand to customers who seem amazed at being given an invitation to hike to a public toilet a quarter of a mile away is quite another matter. Most visitors... More

We politely asked for two rolls to be made to order as advertised on the board over the counter. We were then told by the older woman in the shop in a very curt way that no more rolls would be made until the existing ones were sold.I proceeded to tell them politely that that they should not advertise a service... I visited the Mermaids Purse on Saturday 13th June after 9 mile walk from Blakeney. It had just started raining and I was in need of a cup of tea, a rest and a toilet break. The cafe looked nice so we decided to stay and wanted to find a table to wait for our friends who were browsing in a... More

We visited as a family on a quiet Sunday. Drinks were good, as is the shop next door. The sit down cafe is also very pleasant. But the staff really need to smile, be confident and pleasant. If they want customers to go back, they really must make the experience enjoyable, which they didn't for us. Could do, and need... More

I am not the type to be rude, but this cafe is the most expensive and crap place we have ever eaten in. £10.00 for 2 slices of rock hard victoria sponge 1 pot of tea and one coffee. £10.00 Takin the p*ss or what. Go elsewhere in Wells there are plenty more deserving cafes that deserve custom. we will... More

First impression count and sadly it was a very bad one. Being a party of 7 we struggle for a establishment to fit us all in, so when we walked in and saw a near empty cafe we thought we struck lucky however, it being empty should have given us a warning. The first experience was staff members talking, saying... More

Lovely cafe with great prices with amount of food! Nice seating area outside specially in the summer! Nice little shop to have a mooch around with quirky gifts!

Service and coffee fine, large attractive outdoor seating area but no toilets. You have to walk to the nearest public loo (which isn't that close!) and this means that I really can't give a rating above average.

Walked along Staithe Street looking for coffee and cake. This cafe attracted our attention so we went in. Pleasant inside, spacious and attractive. We ordered coffee each, my husband went for a toasted cheese sandwich and I chose a chocolate brownie. The coffee was good, and my husband enjoyed his toastie. The chocolate brownie resisted any attempt by a fork... More
