Sea life - lovely!

How fabulous to sit on a boat as the sun sets drinking cocktails and eating crepes! We had a large family party of all ages plus dog, we loved The Albatross, especially as dusk arrived and the boat lit up. A little bit scruffy ( well a lot really) I guess back packers would like it, plastic glasses! Cobwebs, guess it's " character" didn't. Really fancy a pancake once we boarded the Albatross !!

Sheltered from the rain and went downstairs on the boat. Pizzas were lovely, so many delicious choices, it was hard to choose! I eventually chose ham , cheese and pineapple pancake, whilst my husband had chorizo mozzarella pancake. I also enjoyed a glass of pimms.

Mmmmm! Well- where to start? On a positive note the boat had a nice atmosphere with maps on the walls and games for children- so that was good. However the staff seemed to be having their own private party, they didn't know what flour was used in the pancakes! Really! When the pancakes arrived they came in pairs and as... More

As a CAMRA member, I can whole heartedly recommend the ale on board. The bar is cosy and atmospheric if a little awkward of access.

This place is really quaint and atmospheric. From the walk up the gangway to the precariously steep steps down to the dining room. You get the sense that it's not going to like anything you've ever experienced before. Despite the unusual settings it has a wonderful homely and informal feeling about it. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But more... More

Having decided upon a trip to Wells-next-the-Sea, The Albatros was discovered via both Tripadvisor and Google. Unfortunately the heavens decided to open on the planned day but, keen to sample our 'find', we pressed on regardless. That was an excellent decision! As many day-trippers had been discouraged, we were able to park adjacent to The Albatros' gangplank and walk straight... More

Great place to sit drink and watch the world (and sailing boats) go by! Pancakes are yummy too! Watch out for the odd bird poo tho! Plus if you had a few beverages be careful of your footing. But a trip to Wells MUST include time on the Albatross! Its an experience in itself! Cant wait for next visit!

We were so surprised to find that the Albatross was a boat moored to the quayside!! The speciality is Dutch savoury (and sweet) pancakes. We had a large savoury pancake each and this sufficed for our evening meal. It was absolutely delicious with a little salad!! The atmosphere was quaint and quirky. We thoroughly recommend this eatery.

We live in Norfolk and have passed this lovely old sailing ship loads of times but today was the first time we ventured on board. What a shame! We have missed years of pleasurable eating. If you are looking for slick, smart, haute cuisine, please don't go. This is a little bit of laid back Holland in the Uk. The... More
