This is a busy pub, clearly popular with locals. The food was relatively inexpensive, but of average quality - I could have done much better myself at home: my salmon salad consisted of a broken up chunk of warm & dry salmon, over a bed of cut Romaine lettuce, with some sliced cucumber and a few small tomatoes. There was... More

We ate here practically every meal we were in Thetford as the food and service was great. The food lives up to Wetherspoon standards and great value for money.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch whilst visiting the area. The food was very good, and was extremely good value, and, with that, the pub is always very busy, which does tend to mean that the staff are at full stretch and the tables are not as clean as you would expect. One thing that I haven't encountered... More

Casual and relaxed, with a decent selection of ales, lagers and ciders and wholesome tasty food. There was also a special curry set for an amazingly low price of £2.99. We ordered the Beef Madras which was spicy and delicious served with yellow rice. We also ordered the ribs which was tender and tasty. Service was efficient and prompt.

Visited friends who took us to Weatherspoons Red Lion in Thetford for Dinner. We went as it was their steak night and our friends had been previously and were very keen to return. The place was packed and we thought we would be very delayed in eating....how wrong were we! The young lady who served us was fantastic so helpful... More

Great service when I invited a group of 30 to a meal on a Thursday lunch time. Years ago I ate in Wetherspoons and didn't try it again until this one opened in Thetford. I've been in several over the last year or so and most are great value for money. The Red LIon at Thetford is clean and spacious... More

I know Whetherspoons as a whole get a bad rap but this place is amazing, they have kept with the corporation identity but applied a unique warm and friendly family pub, nice food, inexpensive drinks and excellent service. Every member of staff owns there own jobs and never pass the blame on other circumstances this pub/restaurant strive for perfection it... More

....says on the tin! Wetherspoons have built a reputation on rescuing dying outlets and serving cheap well kept ales and reasonably priced fayre. The Red Lion is a genuine success story. Those who visit any Wetherspoons (not just this one) and then whinge about small imperfections are not living in the real world. I last visited this place before an... More
