Helpful and friendly staff but thats as good as it gets. Ham egg and chips difficult to get wrong but very dissapointed as I was expecting crisp fresh chips instead I got cold floppy frozen chips and some very dodgy tasting mayonnaise. Ham and mushroom pasta for a child would have fed two adults if it had tasted nice. The... More

As soon as we arrived we were seated on a table what was much larger then needed, as they didn't have any tables with the right amount of chairs for us free, even though they did they were just left with old plates on as no one seemed bothered to clear up. We then waited a good half hour and... More

After arriving and being told there was only 1 table left we sat in the poorly decorated restaurant to find plenty of empty tables, none reserved! We were told by bar staff waiters would come and take our order. After waiting at least 20/25 minuets and no one taking our order we went to the bar and they eventually took... More

We are locals, and regulars, having eaten here on several occasions. This, our most recent visit, was not our best. The food, when it arrived, was well cooked, tasty and hot. I selected from their Specials menu: sea bream, with a gooseberry compote, crushed new potatoes and black pudding - this was very good. The chicken and ribs, ordered by... More

Got there a bit later than usual but, after a 30 min wait the food was good, 6 of us seated with drinks, 2 had Cod and chips, 1 had Gammon, 2 had beef steak burger and 1 had a roast beef dinner. The food was excellent and the service as usual was second to none. well priced. Try and... More

We are local to this pub but our visit was disappointing, the beer garden is not looked after and when asking if an umbrella was available for our table we bluntly told no they are broken. The food is very expensive for what you get, the children's meal is very poor. The Garlic bread served with my main meal was... More

I found the food very tasty and there is a great selection. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. The steak is cooked to how you like it and is great value for money, The portion sizes I felt were perfect. The staff were helpful and we were served quickly and with a smile. We were all impressed and... More

Have been here many times and always have had a good meal. A good selection of traditional pub fayre served by friendly efficient staff. The pub has undergone a major refurbishment which is now complete. There is also a good selection of beers & ales. This pub is run by a landlord who knows his trade & customers!
