Great food and excellent friendly service

Been a couple of times. Good menu using local seasonal produce nicely cooked. Well chosen wine list. Tastefully decorated dining area. I will be back.

Walked in off the street and very lucky to be seated in the window. Had a superb roast beef lunch, the best we have had in ages and very good value...the Malbec was excellent, as was the service and general ambiance. A real gem and one we have recommended to friends.

Oh my what a treat. An ad hoc walk in on a rainy lunchtime gave my wife and I the best meal in ages. Warm wrlcome , lovely bread, first rate wine ( the Shiraz is knock out value) lovely veal ragout startet and the pork main course was first rate. Super use of truffle oil - the truffle custard... Had a meal last night just before going to the Corn Exchange. Hubby had the burger, and in his words it was the best ever burger he's ever had. He said the burger was home made with lovely flavourings, the wheat beer cheese was superb and the bacon jam topped it off nicely. The chips were the best ever....triple cooked!... More

Ate here with my girlfriend and the food is excellent. The price for the meal (2 starters, 2 mains, a side, drinks etc etc) was great value for money. This restaurant would survive & probably flourish in London.

First visit on Valentines day for lunch ❤️❤️ with hubby and daughter. It was very nice and will return again. I had the Gressingham duck and rhubarb, which was extremely tender and melted in your mouth. Was a little difficult to cut with a knife, asked for a steak knife and it was like slicing through butter. So tasty, the... More

Had lunch here with a friend in Nov 2013 and a very pleasant experience it was. Stayed in the area last weekend for a birthday treat and dined with my wife. One slice of complimentary sour dough bread between us but when asked for another was informed that further bread would be charged. Not the best start! My starter of... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our bistro. I was really disappointed to read that you had not enjoyed your evening with us, especially as I was not working Saturday night, as it was our daughter's 8th birthday. I have spoken at length to both Daisy and Charlene, who served you and to my husband who was cooking... More

I've reviewed the Market Bistro on previous occasions and have little to add to my earlier comments except to say that I ate there again today and tried two dishes I've not previously seen on the menu - Pork Cheeks with Black Pudding, Mushroom & Celeriac Cream and Gressingham Duck Breast with Rhubarb. These were both as good as anything... More
