Traditional welcoming pub.

As a friendly and traditional pub that clearly appeals to locals and yet which welcomes visitors very warmly, this pub is well worth a visit. We only had drinks there as there are only so many meals that it is possible to consume in a day. We liked the relaxed atmosphere and cheerful service, but... read more

I've been coming to the King's Arms for a few years now, usually once or twice a year and it's gone downhill recently. The last time I visited in 2014 the food was good, if expensive, but the landlord was not welcoming and, as other reviews have noted, was serving regulars before me although I'd been waiting a while. I... More

My wife and I ate here one sunny lunchtime taking a seat in the yard. My wife had the ploughman's, which was good, and was told about the pickles and extras (see earlier reviewer). I had the fish and chips which was excellent. The pub is always busy and often feels crowded being used by locals and tourists. Would visit... More

It's always nice to sit in the beer garden and have a pint, while the kids play on the 3 swings. The food is very nice and some nice changes to the menu this year. It could do with a tidy up outside.

After visiting today (which we have done several times before) I was horrified by the service received. After ordering food, we were not informed about the extras we were entitled to (pickles, sauces, sides etc) so after paying nearly £9 for a salad and 1/2 a baguette I was informed by the serving staff to raise it to the bar... Called in for lunch before boat trip. Still a proper pub with simple lunch menu with old favourites at reasonable prices. Well stocked cosy bar (good real ales) plenty of room outside with a big garden area at the back.

Regatta fish & chip supper: super quick service, friendly, tasty and filling - perfect with a cool pint on a warm night before the greasy pole competition!

Adnams establishment, looks recently refurbished and with a nice ambience. Good menu, local produce, good service. We went in without a reservation but they found us a table. Busy at peak times.
