Just what we needed

We were in Blakeney for a nostalgic visit and in need of a hot drink and a snack lunch. Having looked at the menu outside we decided to try The Moorings. We had been there years ago when it was much more cafe-like. Now it is a bright, welcoming restaurant that is much nicer inside than it looks... read more

Last minute booking met our request despite it being a busy half term evening. In fact, their ability to accommodate last minute and be flexible to this was demonstrated several times more while we ate. We wanted to share a starter (spicy Cromer crab cake- y-u-m!); what a treat to find that the chef had created two half portions on... More

We ate at the Moorings on a quiet Friday evening in February - when Blakeney was nearly asleep for the winter. The menu and specials featured locally caught mussels and other seafood. We had a seafood platter to share for starters. My wife had a beautifully cooked and presented sea bass with pine nut and herb crust. I had a... More

Have recently had dinner and Sunday lunch at The Moorings. The food was excellent and fairly priced. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. A dining experience that exceeded expectations for once! Will be returning frequently.

We visited this bright, quirky charming restaurant on a sunday afternoon, unfortunately too late for the roast meal - but had a delicious panini sausage sandwich, however - what we were most impressed with, the lovely lady that served us, gave us a little taste of some of the roast potatoes & veg etc...for future reference- what a lovely gesture.... Good location just up the High Street from the harbour. Nice decor, lots of sunny yellow paint and quirky wooden fish hanging on the walls. Smoked seafood platter was excellent (memorable smoked eel), the seabass was good but the mussels from Brancaster, in a tasty white wine and onion sauce, were only just big enough to serve - any smaller... we popped in for a coffee and then smelled the haddock and mussel chowder (£4.95), this turned out to be good, more bread would have been nice but the quality was good. Overall the place is clean and bright, the food we had was good and the staff were friendly. Prices were ok if on the high side for a... More

We booked the table at The Moorings for Boxing day to eat after we'd been on a boat trip to see the colony of seals. We arrived and were promptly served our main course, which was good. From then it went downhill. The restaurant started to fill up and the staff could not cope. Our plates were cleared some 20... More

we had a wonderful experience at the Morrings, we called in on the off chance of a table, although the restaurant was very busy, the very friendly waitress found us a lovely table. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the menu has lots of local sourced produce, food was delicious with a good wine list too. We had a super... More
