I am so disappointed with the service of this hotel. My grandmother received a voucher for afternoon tea to celebrate her 80th birthday. She rang up and booked, stating afternoon tea, and was pleased she could go the following week. Upon arrival she was told they stopped doing afternoon tea a few months ago but could make her a sandwich! We... More

Had not been for a while and decided to treat my wife to a nice sunday lunch. While it was not bad, it was definitely not worth the money we were charged for 2 lunches and a drink each. I have no idea what the bottled water cost, but there was very little change from £80 for something that was... More

Poor service from an inexperienced waiter was bad enough, but my main complaint was that I was unable to cut the steak with the equipment supplied! The White Room had the kind of 'dead' atmosphere that makes you realise that you should not be there and nor should the other two couples that rattled around the room on a Saturday... More

We went for Sunday Lunch expecting it to be wonderful and left feeling short changed by very mediocre food and service and surroundings which seriously needed updating.

I visited the spa with my two friends for a full spa day, all three of us were in desperate need of pampering and relaxation. When booking the experience the staff were professional and explained the process. The week before the experience I received a phonecall to ask if we had any questions. On arrival at the spa we were... More

How sad to report that Seaham Hall has totally lost it. Went for lunch on Sunday, sat for over 20 minutes in The Drawing Room, no-one came to offer drinks, menus etc. at least 5 different members of staff walked through and ignored us. We were the sole occupants.

I have visited the Serenity Spa on a couple of occasions and both times had a fabulous day. I am a member of my employer's sports & social club who had negotiated a deal with the Hall and I had booked and paid for another spa day for myself and 3 friends to celebrate one of my friend's 50th birthday.... I took my partner for a romantic birthday meal as a treat last nite. The hotel looked impressive, staff very attentive. The white rooms however were a disappointment. A loud wedding party spoilt the moment. The atmosphere was far from romantic. Lighting to bright, was noisy, table too large for two and was unstable. Noisy radiator was intolerable. No candle... Down the years, it has been a great professional, ie journalistic, privilege to dine in some wonderful places in many parts of the world. These days, at least within the UK, it’s becoming harder and harder to identify establishments where ambience, service and cuisine combine to provide a truly memorable dining experience. This week, we again visited the Serenity Spa... More
