A pleasant afternoon tea turned out to be a treat

We had what was planned to be a quiet coffee and cake with our white Staffordshire bull terrier dog. When I ordered the organic sausage dish it came with extra meat for our dog and was more than I could eat for a very reasonable price. The restaurant part of this lovely bakery had a log burning... read more

This was a welcome stop for lunch. Arriving chilled after the ride the open coal fire and warmth in the room raised our spirits. Be warned the soup is served in a large bowl with bread so possibly we could have passed on the charcuterie board but we did manage to finish it as very tasty. If you have to... More

We each had a different soup - both were delicious. Probably because they used ham or bacon, so vegetarians might not be so well catered for But the amount of soup we received was probably two or three times what would be served anywhere else. I had thought of having a baguette as well - but I suspect that I... More

We found this lovely place a few years ago and always remembered to go back each time we visit kirby longsdale. We came back today hoping it was as good as we remembered and it was even better! Had a soup and prawn sandwich, so tasty and you get plenty ! The cakes are so fresh and lots of choice... More

On impulse we took in the Bakery for a late breakfast..but too late for breakfast menu so settled for the lunch choice and the best Welsh rarebit ever...especially suiting my girlfriend's special dietary need of spelt bread...no wheat! Excellent taste and helping...even though the bakery is only 200m from home..so well worth the walk...tip is to get there early or... More

Great little bakery with a lovely selection of cakes, and a gem of a cafe in the back, with an original range, that threw warmth and light into the room. The service was exceptional given they were busy on a Sunday afternoon, the very large portion sizes were warned of in case we ordered for our 5 year old daughter,... More

This little bakery has a lovely room with a coal fire in a black range and very welcoming staff. Great Cakes but go early as the best ones are all gone by 4pm

This is an absolute little gem! If the array of pastries in the window are not tempting enough, you might find yourself drawn into the tearoom, with its gorgeous timber frame ans roaring fire - the perfect stop at the end of a rather chilly walk! We ate the soup of the day (a delicious tomato and herb) with a... More
