We chose this place as a half-way meeting point for lunch with friends. We were very early, so decided to have a drink whilst waiting. The décor is very pleasant and on trend, so when I ordered a dry white wine I felt confident that what I was served would be good. Wrong! Was not keen at all (thought it... More

Hadn't planned to stop here at all. We were passing through on the way to Somerset and decided to stop somewhere for a country lunch. Came across The Hare Inn. We arrived slightly earlier than lunch time, about 11.45am. We thought the restaurant was very well done out, lots of tables to chose from, very clean and tables nicely set... More

We visited on a warm, but windy, day in July. Quite a lot of garden to sit in but not much shade and the first umbrella we sat under blew right over the wall and might have landed on a passer-by! Luckily, no harm done, but shows that sunshades should be anchored. Too nice to sit inside but the garden... More

OK, it was Monday lunchtime, but the car park was full and it does call itself a restaurant and bar, sadly for a place that once had Michelin star the experience was dire. Four of us arrived at just about 1pm. One of us on his birthday. First the good bits. We were allowed take our very placid dog into... More

Brilliantly cooked and was of great quality. Very nice Sunday lunch from a clean, classy and traditional british pub. Recommend the roast beef; the potatoes were a highlight of the meal - very nice.

Ten of us celebrated our son's 50th birthday for a Sunday lunch at The Hare at Lambourne Woodlands. We came from all over so some arrived late, but the staff were still relaxed and we had a great meal, wonderfully cooked and presented despite almost every order being different. The bar has been renovated fairly recently but they haven't removed... More

Pleasant old pub that has been modernised sypathetically. Imaginative menu and reasonable prices. Overall very impressed and will return.

Met a colleague for lunch - and had a good meal. Its a very traditional menu, with an emphasis on seafood. I had the Sea Bass (whole) and it was very good - full fish - head on etc.. Staff needed a few shoves to get what we wanted, but overall OK. Didn't get offered bread before we ate, despite... More

I arranged to meet a friend here for lunch as it is more or less half way between our respective homes. Unfortunately, what should have been a 45 minute journey turned into a two hour journey for me due to the horrendous jams on the M25. All I can say is, it was well worth the trip. The restaurant itself... More

Met friends for a very enjoyable lunch, sat outside in the sun. Roast beef was delicious and served rare, roast lamb was tasty but cooked through. We will definitively be back. Waiting staff slightly hit and miss.
