What a bit of Luck

Over the Christmas period my fiancé and I decided to brush away the cobwebs and get out. We picked Hungerford as our destination for the day to meander round the antique shops and have a pub lunch. We stumbled on the Hare Restaurant and Pub (RG17 7SD). We have tried this un prepared type of... read more

Went for a family meal last night after being recommend this restaurant by a friend. Very nice place with plenty of parking and pleasant staff. Food was very good but unfortunately let down by no toast with the terrine, had to ask for bread to be brought to the table. Main meals arrived with one meal short and no peppercorn... More

Popped in here yesterday for lunch as the place we were originally thinking of going to was shut. Relaxed small bar area to peruse the menu with a screen showing horse racing. The dining areas were lovely & cosy. The menu is small but interesting and the food presentation was very good. I can recommend the fish pie & my... More

Very pleasant interior and friendly staff. Main courses were excellent - mostly around £12-13 especially the salmon. Nice selection of mains with familiar favourites like sausage and mash. Service was a bit slow but not a problem for us that day as we had more time to chat but might be problem if you are in a hurry. Would have... More

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The two sisters who were on duty that day made us feel at home straight away and the service was really considerate - nothing was too much trouble including keeping our mince pies for later in the afternoon after we had walked off our lunch. The food was tasty and home made - those... More

We always use this restaurant on our way to Heathrow or Gatwick Airport. We are sure of a warm welcome from the middle aged gentleman who seems to rember us from our previous visits. On this Sunday visit, we enjoyed just a main course of roast sirloin of beef with roast potatoes and surprisingly six other vegetables. The taste was... More

We were just passing by on the way home, slightly off our normal beaten track. What an inspired choice. We just wanted soup and bread -They suggested a beef sandwich too. Best rare beef and horseradish sandwich ever and the soup was excellent to. To top it off the service was great and lovely surroundings. Well worth a visit and... More

Just wanted a quick bite on the way home, being a Sunday thought we might be told sorry just roasts but very welcoming and soup and sandwich later we wished we'd actually stayed longer and had the roast. Best bit of beef in a sandwich ever so guess the roast beef would have been good too. Maybe next time, we're... More
