We had a port apperatif, the couvert, grilled fish, and beer here. The fish was very fresh and tasty. The staff are very friendly and you could tell there were a lot of return customers.
The dinner was excellent. The whole fish was cooked perfectly and we had some of the nicest prawns. The owner was great!! He helped us translate the menu, took us into the kitchen to show us what each thing was and how it was being cooked, shared various complementary port drinks with us and made our night. Well recommended. Thank... More
Great service, huje portions, beware if you're ordering a dish marked for 2 persons, there's enough food for 3!!! and a price for a full meal around 10 euro pp
What shall I write? I never had such a good dinner for so little money. First we have been welcomed with a handshake by the owner of the restaurant (we have never been here before). The starters (we tried the prawns and some dips) were simple but great. The main courses (swordfish and fillet of pork in sauce) were awesome,... More
We were greeted warmly and promptly seated in a place close to the kitchen. This gave us a good glimpse of how the food was being prepared and by whom. The place gave us a "homey" feeling and with the attention given to us by the mother (presumably the owner) and the son (forgot their names), the experience in the... More
One thing about food; you can never beat freshness and quality of ingredients. I would pick a fresh batch of well cooked (seared, baked, poached) fish over some pompous molecular gastronomy any day. These guys have mastered the art of manipulating seafood, the cooks themselves look like they're home trained. EXCELLENT food. I recommend the bacalao (of course) and the... More
Try the Roubalo a Tasquinha, DELICIOSO! For 2 people 15€ wow! The desert Baba de Camelo is a very fluffy dulce de leche mousse, yummmm, yummmm!
We went for a late lunch and the place was packed with a small line. We were handed a small glass of white port and told it would be 5-10 mins which was the standard time given while we were there - and it was about that. We sat at a small table - a little pinched in - but... More
We spent two nights in Nazare as the last part of our 10 day Portugal trip. This restaurant was recommended by our hostess at Quinta and by guidebooks. She said just to follow your nose. Absolutely the best meals in town and on this trip. Always super busy in a restaurant lane. Prices are cheaper than the others, but the... More
We discovered this restaurant after a tip from our hotel's staff and we enjoyed every minute there. It's a fabulous place and the owner, Carlos, is always in the room working and communicating with people. He greeted us and told that his place is not a restaurant, it's a very relaxed club (a tasca) where people can chat, interact with... More
