It's a small restaurant where the owner, very receptive, shakes your hand when you enter the door and leads you to your table of choice. When I ordered a Porto Wine he asked if I knew abt it and explained the Porto types followed by a sample. Same attention when ordering food, with very good suggestions. The food/price was perfect... What is there to say that hasn't been said already? This family owned establishment is a gem of a restaurant. We took them up on their recommendations the first night (shrimp and grilled fish) and were not disappointed. The chocolate mousse (with espresso poured on top) and port wine topped off an amazing dinner. We enjoyed it so much that... More

This is the 1st time that I used Tripadvisor for Restaurant recommendations as they tend to be touristy. However, in the A Tasquinha in Nazare (highly recommended in TA), the owner Carlos and his family offer a great portuguese seafood meal experience at very good Value (good food, good service, good price). Follow his recommendations and enjoy - have a... More

We had a port apperatif, the couvert, grilled fish, and beer here. The fish was very fresh and tasty. The staff are very friendly and you could tell there were a lot of return customers.

The dinner was excellent. The whole fish was cooked perfectly and we had some of the nicest prawns. The owner was great!! He helped us translate the menu, took us into the kitchen to show us what each thing was and how it was being cooked, shared various complementary port drinks with us and made our night. Well recommended. Thank... More

What shall I write? I never had such a good dinner for so little money. First we have been welcomed with a handshake by the owner of the restaurant (we have never been here before). The starters (we tried the prawns and some dips) were simple but great. The main courses (swordfish and fillet of pork in sauce) were awesome,... More

We were greeted warmly and promptly seated in a place close to the kitchen. This gave us a good glimpse of how the food was being prepared and by whom. The place gave us a "homey" feeling and with the attention given to us by the mother (presumably the owner) and the son (forgot their names), the experience in the... More

One thing about food; you can never beat freshness and quality of ingredients. I would pick a fresh batch of well cooked (seared, baked, poached) fish over some pompous molecular gastronomy any day. These guys have mastered the art of manipulating seafood, the cooks themselves look like they're home trained. EXCELLENT food. I recommend the bacalao (of course) and the... More
