We usually drop into the Road House, Mullingar, when returning to Dublin on the N4 from Leitrim. Due to the ferry timings we always arrive in the morning for breakfast which has always been first class. If you are hungry go for the Jumbo Breakfast (€11.50) but you might struggle to finish it ! Went to the Road House on the 2nd september 2013, service was really good and quick, had fish and chips, comes with a nice salad, fish was huge! smoked cod it was really nice, lots of chips, my partner also had the fish plus half of mine, he also had the apple crumble and custard, i had a little sample... A pub with plain food, bad service and a kitchen that is on a go slow. From the outside looks snazzy but very deceiving, just a big old pub, with big old bar food.

visited the Roadhouse twice in 2012,lets say the roadworks did not help the situation,the food was average,the place was freezing,my partner kept her jacket on during the meal.the desserts made up for an otherwise very average meal that was overpriced.
