Good but not good value

most restaurants nowadays offer terrific value in terms of early birds and after visiting white horses I realise they offer value outside of early birds when I compare white horses. Four of us had dinner and found the menu poor - choice wise. Very very pricey and I compare to many good restaurants... read more

We were in Ardmore for our wedding at the Cliff House Hotel and decided a meal out for all the family (wedding party) would be nice. We looked around Ardmore but could only see that The Whitehorses restaurant was open, and then only on a Friday and Saturday night, not suprising as it was October and therefor not the height... I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The food is always excellent. The main courses are expensive, Dublin or London prices, but the selection of vegetables that come with the mains make it good value. The desert's are always a wonderful treat here. Service is efficient and can be slow when the resuarant is busy. Lunch... More

Ate in this restaurant a few weeks ago food was very good but the staff left us standing there when we went to counter to get our table. Very rude staff and the heart of any good restaurant is nice and friendly staff, would not go back there again as meal is every expensive but you at least expect to... More

Ok, so I've always taken web reviews with a pinch of salt. However when I read through some of the recent reviews of this place I was shocked. We had dinner on a quiet mid-week evening as a walk in. As alluded to by other reviews the service was at best, to be polite, "eccentric". I had the creamy fish... More

Great substantial plate of dinner place, really good traditional square meals. The service is brusk but good. The room was very hot when we visited. This place works very well with the combo of the cliff walk.

My wife and I stopped off here on a road trip today. It was very busy and we were asked if we'd booked a table. Upon saying we hadn't the lady told us we'd have to take a table outside which was fair enough. We weren't long after breakfast so we said we'd just have some desserts and coffee. When... More

I have now visited this restaurant on three occasions and will never do so again. On our most recent visit we arrived for lunch only to be told it wasn't open yet (despite arriving at the designated time stated as its opening time on the front door) so we came back half an hour later to be told it was...
