Me and my girlfriend recently went to Sligo and found the beautiful gem that is Shells Cafe. It was buzzing on the nice sunny evening and we enjoyed a cake and tea in the sun. I'd love to go back and try some of the hot food as it smelled and looked lovely.

We visited here recently with family and the whole experience was delightful and memorable, the staff friendly and helpful and the meal was outstanding a lovely experience brilliant views and blankets left outside if anyone felt chilly these small touches add to the excellent service; I would recommend this place highly :)

My husband and I came for breakfast. We ordered very different dishes, but both were delicious. He had a bap (bacon, egg, apple chutney, on bread) and I had the fancy french toast (it was the daily special). Mine was topped with loads of fresh berries and I really enjoyed it, though I must admit that I think my husband's... More

Went for a late lunch with my daughter , it was busy but we were seated quickly , waitress was efficient and pleasant . We had a chicken salad and fish and chips , very nice and good portions , washed down with jars of home made lemonade! Very tasty as always , highly recommended !

Food is delicious but on the pricey side. Very noisy and cramped and always very busy. Even in the winter. We prefer to buy the food to carry out and eat in car or weather permitting along seafront.

Friendly and helpful staff and delicious food to boot...the breakfast and brunch optons are great and although I haven't sampled the dinners I hear they are great! Also a lovely spot to drop in for a tea/coffee and something sweet :)

Shells is about the seaside experience as well as the food. A bustling atmosphere, really great food (we love the fish and chips and the burgers are the best in Sligo - go a half hour before your want to eat as there is usually a wait for tables, at peak times anyway. Always a lovely experience.

This is a really nice place to go for a coffee/chat or for an enjoyable and quaint lunch experience - right beside Strandhill Beach. While not open in the evening (but the excellent Strand Bar around the corner has you well covered there), it nonetheless offeres a really interesting and clever menu - with good service.

The food here is amazing! I had a goats cheese, hazelnut and cranberry sandwich, it was to die for. Highly recommend Shells, their home-made brown bread is good too, you can pick it up from their shop which is adjoined to the shop.
