Busy basement joint with great burgers

Bustling and busy, this place gets points for character. We had chips, salsa, guacamole to start, and a burger and black and bleu chicken. Burger was excellent. All else better than average. Service was great even on a busy night. Decent craft beer selection. Come here if you love burgers and... read more

This place has a cool atmosphere, but personally I just thought the burgers were 'okay.' Definitely had good vibes so if you're with a crowd would be fun; not my favorite pick for date night.

Hugo's is a special restaurant to many current and former Arkansas Razorbacks. Casual and close to the downtown square, you must walk down a short flight of outdoor stairs to enter the bustling environment. There is sometimes a short wait (especially during lunch time), but the Derek's Special Chicken Sandwich and a generous serving of fries are certainly worth the... More

Not only does this place have one of the coolest locations I've ever seen being underground and all, but it is definitely the best burger I've ever had in my life. Definitely order fries too.

Everything about Hugo's is great! The food was excellent. I had the Reuben sandwich. Sandwiches are served with potato chips and you can order a basket of home made fries for the table---or if you're really hungry, for yourself! They are to die for. The atmosphere is truly fun...its a small place in the basement and a little loud, but... More

My family has been coming here for years and the food is always delicious. This funky downtown restaurant is always a favorite hangout. Best french fries and veggie burger in town!

To me, Hugo's is the iconic Fayetteville establishment. Its location embodies its decisively local brand, buried under a downtown block with no pomp or circumstance to attract attention from outsiders. They have no need; they have nothing to prove. It's a true dive burger joint, not a marketing ploy orchestrated to look like a Guy Fieri magnet. The ambiance is... More

I love Hugo's because of the fun atmosphere. It is underground so it may be hard to spot but it's worth it! Sandwiches are delicious -- highly recommend the Reuben!
