Great food, a bit on the small side

Great cajun-style dishes with a mix of fried and non-fried options. The serving portions are bit smaller than what a 10 dollar plate should be, but it's still good. Great staff.

This our "special occasion" restaurant. We would eat here nearly every time we went out if we could afford it. I spent a large portion of my childhood in Louisiana and lived in New Orleans for a while. Often, "Cajun" restaurants are disappointing to me, but not this one! Fried alligator, flavorful crab cakes, and gumbo to drool over. Don't... More

Love the food! We look forward to eating here every time we are in town. The owner is from New Orleans and knows what the real deal Cajun food tastes like. The place is not what you would expect and probably pass it by, but be sure to stop! Overlook the surroundings. The food and wait staff make up for... More

Crawfish. Gumbo. Catfish. Shrimp. It's all perfect. If you like Cajun food then this is your place. Try the Eggplant Napoleon.

The atmosphere is more along the lines of a diner yet the place really needs to be cleaned up. The floors look like they have not been cleaned in sometime. The blinds are greasy and you almost feel like the dirt from the ceiling vents could fall into your food. You can see black soot across the ceiling. The men's... More

Excellent Cajun food in downtown Fayetteville, I eat here every time I stay in Fayetteville. I have yet to have a meal that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Give it a try.

This restaurant needs a good cleaning, floors, tables and mini blinds on the windows were all filthy. Coffee was served to me in a cup that looked like it had never been washed, finger prints and smudges. I had to take my napkin and dip it in water to wash the rim of the cup. Food was very mediocre. I... More

This is the first time we've eated dinner here and it was as good as ever. However, if you want any po boy's you better go for lunch, because at dinner they only serve dinner.....duh. The location might put you off, because the two story building is located in the middle of what appears to be a "seedy" motel. The... More

First time trying Cafe Rue, not a bit disappointed! The service was excellent, very friendly. I loved the trivia cards on the table. Restaurant was a bit chilly, but quickly changed once the food was served. Flavorful crab cakes. Shrimp pontchartrain was creamy and spiced just right. Baked mac & cheese was a bit dry, but great flavor none-the-less. Finished... More

this is a Cajun restaurant and the food is as good as New Orleans. The only disappointment is there were no oysters on half shell the night we went. Also, we went on a very cold night and since this is a small restaurant surrounded by large windows, it was very cold inside the restaurant. However the food made up... More
