Had dinner here a few evenings ago. Didn't want a big meal so opted for the chicken caesar salad from the starters. Was amazed at the size of the portion and was one of the nicest I've had. Really good value for money.

Came in here mid cycle to watch the 20th stage of the TdF. The staff were great, and really friendly. They accommodated our request and popped on the race for us to enjoy. Just wished we'd stayed here instead of Kingscourt.

While visiting Carrickmacross a group of 12 footsore, weary, hungry customers descended on this restaurant seeking a quick , rejuvenating fix and boy did they deliever! Can we have sandwiches/ drinks for all....well Kate and Debbie swung into action and within minutes we had jugs of orange/ blackcurrent before us while they busied themselves preparing our food. A fantastic selection... More

The food was all good I had seafood gratin which had big prawns and chunks of salmon served with a nice mash -... More

Returning from Stroove, Co. Donegal. Tired and hungry kids since they didn't eat much breakfast despite me trying... Parked on the main street and marched them over. In the door and someone approached us straight away - not the typical chase the staff in a bar carry on. Good start. Seated in the bistro and without asking the lady produced... More

We were staying in the town and after a disappointing dinner at the Shirley Arms Hotel headed here for both lunch and dinner the next day. Service is crisp and efficient but also friendly. The decor is a hoot with a gothic, medieval style which makes it stand out. The food is modern and the chef has talent. You will... More

We were celebrating a 40th at the Fiddlers Elbow. Everybody in our party agreed the quality and presentation of both the starters and mains was very good. The staff couldn't do enough to help and at the end of the night escorted us to their sister cocktail bar down the road. Had a great night and would definitely recommend.

Unlike most reviewers I 'just' enjoyed dinner from the menu. Simple, tasty, good value. Asked a side salad to be brought before steak, and was presented a generous portion. Sirloin was the best over the 2 week Ireland tour. It came as ordered medium, having decided to be on the safe side due to the previous so 'n so experiences.... More

The fiddlers elbow served a lovely carvery. I had chicken cordon bleu with potatoes and veg. A lovely meal with a complementary coffee for €11.00. Carrots and broccoli slightly undercooked nevertheless a great experience. Nice and friendly wait staff. Would recommend.
