Food and service are great here. The lamb was served with chunky veg and potatoes, just what you want (and I love that you are not charged extra for veg!!). If you only go for one thing, I would recommend going for the sweet nachos. AMAZING! Cant wait to go back.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We visited here in April 15. The staff were friendly, cheerful and polite. For starters we had a garlic bread and chicken wings with blue cheese sauce. Was referred to this little gem by a fellow friend we are glad we took his advice..we were welcomed with great service ..all during our stay the service was excellent. .we went for the early bird menu..huge selection to choose from at excellent prices.food was delicious ..all round fantastic time cant wait to go back..

Dined at the poets rest yesterday evening for the second time. I had to review again to say the first time we dined we really enjoyed the experience but last night was even better. My wife and I went out for date night and OMG this place was amazing. Nice seat by the fire, Bottle of red. And then for a fantastic meal. The ribs and wings where amazing and so sticky (yum). The wife and I ate in The Poets Rest last week having it come highly recommended by our friends. Located on the Collon Road out of Slane on the right hand side there is minimal parking however the church car park is near the restaurant and provides plenty of car park spaces here. I have just just eaten here for the second time and enjoyed my second visit as much as the first. The menu is great there is plenty to choose from, there were quite a few things I wanted!
