My family and I stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch after visiting the Hill of Slane. This restaurant is lovely. Had been to this restaurant before about 6 months previously and service had been slow and food average but decided to give it another go and was pleasantly surprised. Everything we had was gorgeous, Thai fish cakes with noodles were delicious, fish cakes were packed with salmon, prawns etc. Kids had pizza and carbonara, both were delicious and gone in... More

Food and service are great here. The lamb was served with chunky veg and potatoes, just what you want (and I love that you are not charged extra for veg!!). If you only go for one thing, I would recommend going for the sweet nachos. AMAZING! Cant wait to go back.

Both these starters were exceptional. Our mains were a 12" pizza cooked on the tradition oven and a homemade beef burger. Both were gorgeous and could not be... More

The wife and I ate in The Poets Rest last week having it come highly recommended by our friends. Located on the Collon Road out of Slane on the right hand side there is minimal parking however the church car park is near the restaurant and provides plenty of car park spaces here. We had no reservation on a Saturday... More
