this was a great place for some reason the manager seems to move just when its getting good. Its a pity because as soon as you know the staff they are gone. The manager that was here is now in O neill in Duleek Go there instead

I frequent the Peacock for brekie every second weekend. The mini-fry be delicious and a large portion for myself and is very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and always check if you are ok for coffee refills and toast.

I had lunch in The Peacock Bistro with Three friends last Friday and it was a very memorable experience. From the minute you walk in your made feel at home and very welcome by the staff. We had a selection of starters to begin with, a chicken ceasar salad, crispy spicy chicken wings, chilli beef salad and a bowl of... More

Food, Menu and Value very disappointing.. Service nice and friendly. We have pasta, curry and wrap.. Pasta dry, Curry lacked flavour and wrap tasteless... Chips greasy and burnt. Portions also small. Disappointing especially for the prices they charge...

We found the Sola Bia has been renamed the Peacock Bistro but it still serves the same great food. We had Sunday lunch of tomato risotto balls and chicken wings as starters followed by rib of beef followed by apple tarte tatin and amaretto profiteroles in a white chocolate sauce. The portions were very generous. The waitresses were welcoming and... More

Heard about this restaurant through word of mouth. I guess it's the sort of place you could easily drive by and not notice - there is a petrol station beside it. Stopped in one rainy Friday evening. The first thing you notice is how spacious, clean and nicely decorated it is. I was half expecting a cafe type place. The... More

I have been to Sola Bia quite a few times and always have been impressed. Very reasonable prices and tasty food. The waitresses are friendly and Lorraine in particular always has a smile on her face. Love the three egg omelettes!

Have been here a few times and have never been disappointed, but what I love about it is the kid's menu - an option for a half portion of the roast of the day, along with other decent food choices, and at a proper price for a child's meal (I hate paying three-quarter's of an adult's price for a half... Our innkeeper, Patricia at Lougher Farm (near Newgrange), suggested that we make the jaunt to this restaurant for a late lunch after a day of traveling and touring Newgrange, giving it her very highest recommendation. We had to get there before 5 as they do not stay open later in the off-season, only til about 8 or so after Easter... More

This is a really great place to eat, and I would definitely recommend it. Although it is slightly off the beaten track, this little bistro is well worth the distance. The menu is good and offers real variety, from sandwiches/paninis, to pasta, fish pie and home made burgers. I opted for the burger, which was served with a side salad... More
