Amazing food

Really lovely restaurant. Great decor and friendly, helpful staff. My sister and I visited and we had three courses each. She had the goats cheese strudel, duck confit and chocolate mousse whereas I had the Carlingford oysters with asian dressing, duck confit and summer berry roulade. Every single... read more

We went to this restaurant and booked for 7pm weeks in advance but on the day the ignorant manager [--] insisted we be at restaurant by 6pm and out by 8pm!!! My friends and I were disgusted at the way she spoke to us throughout the meal and at the end very rudely told us she needed the table back... More

Think perhaps this is my 6th time staying here & faultless. Reviewing breakfast as didn't have dinner as planned. Breakfast so fresh - yogurt & fresh fruit or porridge with real local honey. Not a coffee drinker but the other half said it was delicious. Poached eggs to perfection too.. What astounded me was the rudeness of guests. It's not... More

You can tell when a restaurant actually has a passion for food and The Bay Tree has this! We visited here midweek as three adults a kid. The service was good and the food was excellent. Starters were very tasty, especially the duck. We had a mixture of mains, one being the ribeye steak with lobster tail......perfection!! Our son wanted... More

Fabulous food. What a meal! Fresh local produce, perfectly prepared and presented. Our table of 7 were unanimous in their praise. Excellent oysters in different ways, goat's cheese strudel, duck samosa....tasty. Main courses included a wonderful Daube of Beef, amazing Lamb (including kidney), Pork Belly (Old Spot) and several of the best lobsters we've ever had. Truly enjoyable experience from... More

We went on a busy Saturday night with two friends. We haven't been for a while but it was still as good as ever. The service was excellent -prompt but not so that you felt rushed. We had a variety of dishes and everyone enjoyed what they ordered -fishcakes, sole ,lamb - all cooked beautifully. The great food is accompanied... More

Carlingford is a wonderful historic seaside town in Ireland just on the border with Northern Island. Getting to the Bay Tree restaurant via the narrow streets abuzz with craft shops and Bistros, already puts you in a good mood and ready for what this restaurant has to offer. Delightfully decorated with bay tree motifs, the eating area is compact without... More

Just returned from Sunday dinner at the Bay tree and I will certainly not be back!! The food was nice enough but the manager/head waitress was very abrupt and rude. Her bedside manner leaves s lot to be desired. Service was also extremely slow. We ordered dessert, waited almost 40 minutes for it to arrive and then when it still... More

We had a meal at The Bay Tree on our last night in Carlingford and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial and the food was very good and excellent value. One of the best meals of our week long holiday in Ireland.
