I loved the fish starter and chicken main course. The place was Full and lovely buzz but typical of Carlingford, quite expensive relative to city restaurants, even those with a Michelin star

Lovely restaurant on side street- a real athmosphere - food well though out and varied fish - a real treat - could lower prices a little however you pay for quality - even a very good bar attached - would be great fun late- higjhly recommended

We visited Magees as part of a one night stay in Carlingford. When we went in, the place wasn't too busy, there was a lovely, calming atmosphere. The place was well lit and laid out. We were greeted warmly at the door and given a nice table by the window. The service was friendly and not rushed at any stage,... More

Our group of 4 adults arrived for the first dinner sitting of the evening at 6:30pm (the second sitting is at 8:30pm). I had made a reservation and it's just as well because every seat was taken. We decided against starters and ordered a lovely house Rioja to go along with the steaks we had all ordered for mains. Two... More

Went with family for 630pm sitting on a Friday night. Started off with a couple of nice cocktails in the bar while we waited on our table. Lemonito in particular was really fresh and tasty. Meals arrived as soon as we sat down: I ordered the 1/2 lobster, prawns and crab claws. While it was delicious, I felt a bit... More

Been here many times and have never been disappointed with the food - always amazing. Staff are great - especially Kay. The cocktail bar is fab and the boys behind the bar great. No complaints.

We visited this establishment over ten years ago and we remember having a fantastic meal. So when we were in Carlingford recently to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary we called at Magees in the afternoon of the 6th August to book a table for two. When we did turn up for our table we were shown to a table which... More

We ate here twice over 4 visits to Carlingford. Both times were a disappointment. It is the main restaurant in the town and is taking full advantage by charging Dublin prices and cramming the tables. On our latest visit we waited for more than an hour for our starter of raw oysters (not much cooking time there). Our mains were... More
