I think it's really poor that when my partner and I called here with our 3 children we were told we couldn't have a drink unless we were ordering food! Now I know lots of establishments have this rule and I would understand if the place was full but it was completely empty! We have been on a lot of... More

The food is fabulous here, mouth watering. Definitely worth a visit. It's really busy at the weekends so you need to reserve a table. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Don't expect to sit for hours chatting over food though as staff be keen to get the table back for the next seating. The cocktails are expensive but tasty

Magee's looks attractive and Ghan House hotel where we were staying does not do dinner every evenong but will advise and book. Magee's is about five minutes' walk away, is well arranged and has attractively competent staff. The oysters which I had to start... More

Although I have visited the beautiful village of Carlingford many times, my first visit to Magees was Easter Sunday evening. The village was very busy and we were lucky to get a table in the almost full Magees. The food was excellent. My 'surf and turf' was easily the best I have had. The staff are friendly and attentive and... More

I ate dinner for the second time at Magee's Bistro. Although the food was not quite as good as the first time...( I ordered a filet butterflied) ....the steak was tender, but not what one would expect for 28€. The service was quite good ....which is often not the case when an elderly woman dines alone. I would certainly go... More
