I ate dinner for the second time at Magee's Bistro. Although the food was not quite as good as the first time...( I ordered a filet butterflied) ....the steak was tender, but not what one would expect for 28€. The service was quite good ....which is often not the case when an elderly woman dines alone. I would certainly go... More

My daughter and I went to Carlinford and stayed overnight in a B&B , a mile out of town. My daughter was to take part in a 10k race the next day, the landlady recommended Magee's Bistro, so off we went for an evening meal. There were only about for couples in the restaurant, but the atmosphere was warm and... More

In Carlingford and stopped for a meal, thought we would try Magees, as it was quite early all appeared quiet. After a very good meal and wine for the non driver as we left the place was crowded, for a mid week, mid month there are not many places that boast that. Chowder as a starter was excellent, seafood mains... More

We ventured out into Carlingford town on a Saturday night in deepest darkest January. We had not made a reservation, it was off season after all. Magees had been our restaurant of choice, but when we entered, it was very apparent that off season it was not - ooops. That said the hostess informed us that we were in luck... More

Last September as my friends birthday rolled around, we decided to go to Magee's for dinner and a few drinks. I had never actually eaten here before this and was a little unsure of what to expect. The most memorable part, by a country mile, was the fillet steak. Now, I'm a fussy sod at the best of times and... More

We went for meal to Magee's sat after Christmas, restaurant was very busy, I ordered Atlantic prawns, The waitress recommended prawn cocktail so I ordered on her advice, I was very disappointed, the prawns were tiny and tasteless and not Atlantic Prawns. I should have changed as I am sure there would not have been a problem. The rest of... More

Such a sad experience after reading the reviews. The food was poor and service slow. Little atmosphere and unglamourous surroundings.
