We went here on spec w\o a prior booking. There were ten in our party & the waiter who greeted us when we entered was very nice organising our table quickly. That's unfortunately were the good service ended. We all ordered main courses which took 1hr 10 mins to serve. Granted the restaurant was quite busy but nobody came to... More

Had a lovely romantic meal here recently and the food and service are impeccable. The maitre 'd is very efficient, friendly, helpful and made our visit a memorable night so much so that we popped back in the following evening to sample this incredible cocktail menu in Magee's at the suggestion of the maitre 'd. she spotted us straight away... We like to eat out but not usually on a Saturday night as we are non drinkers and tend to avoid restaurants with bars attached! Tonight we ate in Magee's Bistro and were delighted. We booked for 6.30pm and left at 8.30pm. The place was packed and rather noisy but the service was super and the food was absolutely perfect.... More

We'd a great meal. The food was well presented and very tasty. The sea food chowder was beautiful but piping hot and I had wondered if it had been microwaved. The mains and sauces were also excellent. This is a large restaurant and it was full of large parties. It got very warm and yhere was no ventilation. The staff... More

My boyfriend and I visit Carlingford regularly and have often gone to MaGees for some delicious cocktails. Last weekend we decided to have dinner there as we had heard great reviews. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant and it was busy all night long. The food was very good and both my bf and myself really enjoyed the... More

The only fair way to write this review is to split it into "Service" & "Food". Firstly to the chef, hats off the food was amazing the goats cheese starter and fish platter were to die for... the presentation was great and the quantity was just right! Now to the negative, the service was shocking .... the waitresses were too... More

Had a lovely meal, good atmosphere, and nice service, slightly spoiled by a noisy "Hen Party" a couple of tables away. Recommended and would return again.

On a Saturday night, this place was buzzing. And people had dressed up to make a night of it. Good cocktails and great local fish....recommended.

We had the pleasure to dine in this restaurant a few weeks ago and I have to say it was top class. The food was just beautiful (Id recommend the Salmon in puff pastry) and the staff where very helpful ( my wife is pregnant and they had no problems catering to her needs and mixing up all sorts of... It is disappointing to have to write this review but the service we received in this restaurant on Saturday night was simply appalling. The only saving grace was the food itself, which I none of us could fault, so top marks to the chefs. A group of 15 of us had booked a meal here to celebrate our friend getting married.... More
