Went here Saturday night past, the food was fantastic beaten only by the service. And I don't just mean our waitress but everyone in the Bistro. Intelligent, friendly, on the ball, enjoying their work and it showed. Ate the previous night in an award winning establishment and this beat it hands down in all departments.

You simply must make your way to Magees in Carlingford. The gourmet capital of the North East. This resturant serves the best food imaginable, if you like fresh fish there is a good selection and the chef knows how to prepare a sauce. If you like Lobster and steak with delicious sauces on the same plate then you will think... More

Have been going to Magees for a long time but on the last 2 occasions, the service has been terrible. It's really gone down hill. I booked a table for 8pm and was asked to wait in the bar. My friend was really hungry so I complained about the delay and at 9pm, my table was ready by the door.... More

Went back again for my bday. Wasnt disappointed at all. Food was fab i got scallops then seabass which i def recommend. Although it is bit pricey def go back the food so fresh. You can see chefs cooking it and effort they put in to each dish!

Usually Magees is great - its a bit pricey but well worth it!! Recently we went for a meal for a special occasion which had been prebooked - a table for 2. When we arrived on time we were told to wait a minute until our table was ready - looking around the restaurant it looked pretty full but there... More

Food nice but overpriced. Rudest head waitress/manager ever. Has neither people nor managerial skills and is only interested in getting money in and customers out as quick as possible.

I had heard that this bistro served excellent steaks, so I decided to give it a try. I thought, the fillet steak at 28 Euros, was a bit on the expensive side, but then perhaps it would be worth it. Well it wasn't. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium to well and I got what looked like... More

Have been to Magee's a few times and always raved about it. Went on Easter Monday with husband and 2 friends for the fish and chips 'platter for 2' and were very disappointed. The chips were not homemade and they weren't nice. Although the fish for 3 of us was fine, my husbands was simply a ball of batter with... More
