A definite improvement on my last visit

Stopped in for a lunch following a long walk around the village. We were cold and hungry, the open fire was a welcome sight. The starters were very nice, chicken gujons and soup, Cod and chips for main was a good choice, large portions with a very nice tartare sauce. Really enjoyed the lunch. My... read more

I have been here a few times and the atmosphere has always been great. The last time we were there was for the all Ireland hurling final and the place was packed. In saying that you could easily get served. The beer garden was great with a live band. I have also eaten here on other occasions and the food... More

This is pub food at its very best. I've visited this place several times and have never been disappointed. The seafood (especially crab claws) is to die for but hey, the spare ribs, chicken wings etc are also great. Definitely a keeper!

Had a meal here on our recent trip to Carlingford and I was very impressed. O'Hares had a comprehensive menu, including a menu with gluten free only choices. The food was just excellent in presentation and taste, as good as any restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and it was clearly a popular pub. We will be back.

Went away for a night in carlingford and decided to go in here to watch the football. Was served in seconds by very friendly gentleman behind the bar. Front bar Guinness is fantastic by the way. Then moved into the back for more comfort and decided to eat. We had oysters fish pie and chicken goujons and everything was excellent... More

The oysters!! If your ever in Carlingford call in and try the breaded oysters here. Outstanding. Also one of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had.

Back to PJ's again for another excellent lunch with friends. Fish was lovely and fresh with yummy salad and home made wheaten bread. `My friend is allergic to wheat and was very pleased to be offered a special menu of gluten free options. Staff could not have been nicer. Do try the draft cider as it is a most unusual... More

This is THE place to eat oysters and wheaten bread washed down with Guinness sitting as close as possible to a roaring fire on a chill January day. I have done this on many visits over 20 years. Highly recommended
