Ok. Saturday night / buzzing with hen and stag night parties - bouncers a plenty - pints of Guinness not great but drinkable. During the week - a much better ambience especially if your over 35. Otherwise if your up for a bit of a flirt and what goes on afterwards well go for it on a Saturday night.

As with quite a few things in Carlingford, the outside and insides don't always match. On the outside the pub looks old world and quiet, on the inside its large, loud and lively. We popped in for dinner and were very pleased with the excellent food and generous portions. By day its a normal pub with food and by evening... More

superfriendly bar man got us a seat on packed-out Sunday.. had a cosy wee drink.. but I remember several great visits to Beergarden with music and craic. now it's empty, freezing, dead. Surely a nice beer garden should be lit up, heated and made nice. Even in November. Especially in November.

Food was just about warm and over expensive.. 5 euro for a cold bowl of chips... sent food back and it was just reheated this was after we waited 45 minutes for 2 bowls of wings... All minerals we got were flat and a very pushy male staff member ordering people to tables and as soon as you walk he... More

We went here for a few drinks and some food. We sat at a table to the side of the bar. There was a lot of staff about but it was really difficult to get anyone's attention. They were busy chatting and just hanging out. Even when we did get there attention they were kinda rude! And we repeatedly had... More

We had stepped by without reading the previous reviews. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Ordered the fish and chips - yummy square battered cod, chunky chips and the mint peas with accompaniment of crispy side salad - absolutely georgeus! The only recommendation - get there quite early as is always packed. The interior itself is between traditional Irish... More

Just returned from family trip where we ate in all the local restaurants and this was by far the best food in town. Can really see why it got the awards for best Gastro pub! The food was amazing and the staff very friendly! Would recommend a midweek visit, just a bit too busy Friday, Saturday for our family. The... More
