This was a group visit with friends, who were celebrating a family birthday. It was my first time to eat in PJ O'Hares, while some of my friends had eaten here before. They highly regarded it for good food and atmosphere. Food was very good, generous portions, however there was an unfortunate mistake made when one of our orders were... More

After reading some reviews about the seafood chowder here we decided to drive the 60 miles to try it and are we glad we did. Combined with two lovely slices of their wheaten bread this is one of if not the best chowders we have ever tasted. The texture, taste and content were superb and seasoned perfectly. Lots of lovely... More

Had a lunch of a selection of starters for family - huge portions and good variety. Would recommend if in town.

Everytime I go to Carlingford I always end up in PJs! Great atmosphere and something on the menu for everyone! Although it's hard to beat the chowder and a pint of the black stuff! :)

We have been to PJ's for many years. We stopped for lunch today and had oysters, sea food chowder and crab claws. Good tried and tested pub grub. We have always tended to stick to these dishes and have never been disappointed. Service was friendly and responsive. Seems as though the previous reviewer was just unlucky. Well worth a visit... We arrived in Carlingford on Friday 4th July 2014, small group of us, 7 people for my Mums Birthday. We picked PJ O Hares, because of the great comments on Tripadvisor. I was 8.50pm and I asked when was food finished, 9pm I was told in a very unfriendly manner. We all sat down and menus were given. The waiter... More

OMG - what a find!!!! Normally a chicken starter is at most 5/6 wings. Not at PJs!!!! The amount of wings that were put in front of us was enough to feed an army. And the sauce was perfect spicy without burning with a sweetness too it too. The service was exceptional too. From the moment we arrived everyone was... More

Was here as a group of 19 for my sisters hen party. The food, service and everything was amazing. Will definitely go back if I am in Carlingford again.
