Myself and my fiancé have eaten here twice now, the first time two years ago was awful but we completely forgot we had even eaten here and went back last Sunday while in carlingford and starving. Once our food arrived we remembered the terrible experience before. He got the wings, god awful, sweet chilli sauce on them and at that... More

Sunny day in May, a welcoming Carlingford saw friendly decorators add fresh exterior coats of paint for a new season. We headed for O'Hares for lunch lured by favorable feedback via TripAdvisor. Though not cheap, we did have a vodka plus a Guinness and followed by an expresso coffee, this is a good place to dine particularly if you have... More

I live in Newry so often in carlingford for walks and then would visit PJ for food, drink and atmosphere. Food tends to be good but I feel prices have gone up over last couple of years making it too expensive for what you get. The quality is OK. It's nothing offensive but not mind blowing special either. However, PJ'S does... More

If you love fish then you will love O'Hares. If you like great Guinness with your food then you will really love this pub restaurant. Went in after a lovely walk around the village so I had a good appetite, fish and chips was the order of the day. The food was top quality and the ambience very pleasant, will... More

Breezed into O'Hares for my dinner one evening whilst staying mid week down in Carlingford...bit disappointed in the veggie choice but opted for stir fry..pleasant enough and garlic bread side was very good...staff pleasant and attentive. All in all an ok experience.Pub was quiet as was week after Easter hols but I liked atmosphere.

I went to pj o hares in late April on a Saturday, we expected it to be a small pub/restaurant but it was that big you would need a map! It was quite busy and I asked one of the male staff for a table and within a minute we were seated and we couldn't believe it due to being... More

Went for a family meal after a day out with my son's girlfriend who was visiting from Wales. I thought she would enjoy the quaintness of Carlingford and having been to PJ's before I had no hesitation going back. It was busy, but then again it always seems busy. But I like it and it's hustle and bustle but yet... More

Went there with my daughter and her three University friends from Flat 23. Great lunch, everybody had something different and enjoyed it. Their seafood chowder is amazing and I always have it - it is just too good not to have!!!! The bar is so homely and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. It does get very busy... More

Pub was way bigger than you first though when stepping in, but it was crowded everywhere, so it took while to get the seat. Staff was quite busy and service could have been friendlier. But meal was great. I had chowder and it was delicious with pin of Guinness. My partner had oysters and they were simply amazing. I'll be... More
