The most obnoxious and surly staff I have ever encountered for such a medicore bar

The bar itself is nothing special, you standard rural bar. But the shocking part of the experience for us was the staff, they are beyond rude. The entire time we were there they were borderline aggressive with every request and downright offensive to individuals in our company at times - you'd... read more

After a day out touring around the Mourne Coastal Route , we headed for the picturesque village of Carlingford to show our overseas visitors a peace of Irish charm. We have dined once before at PJ's, and were very impressed on that occasion. We were not disappointed this time either! On arriving, the place was packed as usual, but the... More

It may have been quiet when we popped our heads in at 12.30 this Friday, but by the time we were ready to leave having had a splendid lunch it was heaving - with folk of all ages. Our seats at the back by the wood fire were well placed. We started with the Guiness, with plates of oysters, a... More

Lovely little bar with very pleasant staff. We dined just after noon on Thursday. We made our way towards the fire at the far end of the bar to dine. Surprisingly there were 3 different couples with their young families which made for a little more noise than expected. I can state categorically that my battered cod is among the... More

We had the seafood chowder and it was one of the best we have tasted! A good pint of Guinness and Prosecco by the glass!

I remember visiting this pub years ago when I was younger. I was fascinated by the leprechaun outfit, belongings and bones they had on display of one of the little people. It's a clever marketing tool as years have gone by and I still remember this place for that reason. Deciding where to go on a day out we hopped... More

Had a great nights craic, roared and laughed all night. Went in on a Wednesday night and yarned and laughed with all the locals (including trying to explain the Irish weather to the poor lad from southern Italy who has moved over to Carlingford to work in the Italian restaurant - he seemed very disappointed to know that it didn't... Visited here Monday 12th of jan. Been once before & food was good typical pub food. Ordered cod goujons & chicken wings for starter they were fine chicken wings are a good portion but they just smothered in sweet chilli sauce no effort to even create a decent sauce for the wings. Then we had 2 steak s/w 1 rare... More
