I ate here with my wife last Sunday night and it was exceptional. It is run by Jackie, who seems to do everything, waitress, chef, artist of the paintings on the wall, takeaway order taker etc. She had a million things on the go when we were there. The paintings on the wall are classm, Amy Winehouse and Madonna stand... More

Great relaxed family friendly Italian restaurant and takeaway. Good quality food, friendly service and excellent prices. Would love it to feel more like a restaurant than a takeaway and also in a more prominent location has huge potential!

Great value, tasty home made food - the pizzas are wonderful - served by owner Jackie who is also an artist, with examples of her oil paintings hanging in the cafe - definitely worth a visit - will be back every time we are in this area.

We asked people in town where to eat lunch. We were steered to a good lunch stop. Excellent service coupled with good food for a good price.

We had dinner here on the June Bank Holiday weekend. I had the steak and mushroom pie with chips and salad and my other half had pasta carbonara. Both meals were quite substantial and tasted great. Jackie, who cooked and served us had also created the beautiful artwork hanging on the wall. The painting of Amy Winehouse was uncanny and... More

Jackie is not just an artist on canvas ... the pizzas had by our group were so authentic we were licking our lips ... in fact I’m salivating of the thoughts and so look forward to a return visit.

I've been a regular here since I moved to the area years ago. The homemade pizza's are outstanding with a perfect crispy and all fresh toppings. Also good for curry's, pasta's sandwiches and (again) homemade cakes. Service is efficient and friendly. Located centrally in the town. It's also the only place in town with fats & free wifi access.

Found The Beehive when visiting Portumna while boating along the Shannon with a group of friends. Incredibly good food and great wine for excellent value. Best homemade pizzas we've ever had. Lovely relaxed atmospere and really friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if looking for a bite to eat in and around Portumna.

We had a great night at the Beehive for my friends hen party. We were on the boats on the Shannon and stopped off in Portumna. The Beehive was the perfect location, we booked out the restaurant for the evening (there were 30 of us), so were able to decorate the place and do all the usual hen stuff to... More

Recently our daughter was camping in Portumna Forest Park with The Scouts which give us a wonderful excuse to revisit this lovely restaurant. We used to live nearby and often called in for pasta, topped off with the homemade Tiramisu. Jackie was there and greeted us like long lost friends. We went on to have a wonderful meal of all...
