Well, I just got back from travels to Ireland, Seattle, and Alaska and the Old Thatch Pub in Killeagh in County Cork is my favorite place to eat and drink. If you are not interested in trying a Guinness or other beer, the bartender is a master of mixing drinks. He suggested an amaretto sour for me that was delicious.... More

We were on our way to Cohb, it was late in the day and we Stopped at the Old Thatch to take a picture and decided to grab a bite. Both my husband and I had the seafood chowder, which the waitress told us is made to order. It, along with the brown bread, was amazing. Best seafood chowder either... More

Stopped for lunch while in route on trip. Didn't have time to check out on TA first & it looked like it may be a tour bus stop. Luckily, not many patrons, just a few at the bar that had apparently been there most of the day. We sat in the rustic but comfortable dining room. Service was a bit... More

I wish I was there now by the river sipping one of the best mint juleps I've ever tasted! I plan a return visit someday! I cannot say enough about the great atmosphere, delicious food and delightful friendly owners & staff! ! Well worth a visit!

Our group visited on a Saturday evening. The food was outstanding as was the wonderfully friendly service. However, the bartender making the Cosmopolitans was the real star of the evening.

My wife and I spent the afternoon there with a group. We felt we experienced the best pub in Ireland. Our group was in Ireland for a week and that afternoon was considered a highlight for me. I still wear my Old Thatch shirt back here in Louisiana. We enjoyed the hospitality and learned how to draw the perfect Guinness.... More

A wonderful pub & restaurant, with a warm and friendly staff & owner. In addition to the authentic atmosphere, there is a lovely beer garden-type area next to a small river & picturesque bridge... not close to any traffic, though, as the town is rather small. Lovely, cool & green, as Ireland should be! And the food is a cut... More

I visited this pub with a tour group and found everyone to be very friendly, accommodating and fast when it came to our dining experience. The meal was completely a level above your normal pub restaurant (the seafood chowder was the best soup/chowder I've ever tasted and the fish and chips are a dark horse for the best in the... More

Been going there since I was a small child with my family and was always a favourite of mine. However recently after giving it a second try and the benefit of the doubt after a very sub standard meal, I was very disappointed to report no improvement again. A week ago, midweek had the chicken with mushroom sauce. It was... More
