My boyfriend and I ate at the auberge with another couple and we were all pleased with the experience. We each ordered something different - beef, poultry, fish and duck - but all left satisfied with the meal. The wine list was extensive, and the desserts didn't disappoint. The auberge is well-kept and inviting, and the staff was friendly and... More

We 'rediscovered' the restaurant after an absence of many years. Although ugly housing developments have sprung up nearby, they are still out of sight of the restaurant terrasse. You are in the midst of Pays de Gex bucolic countryside with lovely views of the Alps. Very nice and tasty menus and at prices that nearby Geneva cannot match. While best... More

Do not rely on the website for details of when the restaurant is open and on no account ask the hotel to do any washing for you.

A friend took us to this restaurant somewhat hidden away in the countryside not far from Geneva. As he told us, the place had been very well regarded in the past, then maybe seen some less good years and he was keen on trying again. The cosy, slightly old-fashioned decoration definitely marks this as a French countryside place. We were... More

Cosy retro design, fireplace, black and white photos all around and great choice of music! Inside is perfect for rainy evening! Terrace must be great during warm clear weather - with view of Montblanc. Food is just great. Foigrais is amazing. Your kid also will be happy with child menu. Good choice of wines. Very attentive and nice stuff. Definitely... More

This restaurant is a little bit out of the way but worth making the effort to get there. We went there after a food and wine fair, a friend said he had eaten there 10 years ago and remembered it being great. It was a bit hard to find but on arriving the view from the terrace was wonderfull, especially... More

This used to be my favorite restaurant in "france voisine". Still a charming auberge and the service is excellent but the food is not what it used to be... We had stake and the meat was hard, limited selection in the cheese platter... Quality price ratio not worth it...

Delighted to find this gem in Gex. The restaurant itself is really cosy and comfortable, the service is excellent - as is the wine list. The menu was well balanced between game, seafood and 'regular' meat dishers; the quality of the food was fantastic, genuine home cooking with the best of ingredients - the best I've has in this region.... It's not easy to find good food at a reasonable price in the Pays de Gex, but the Auberge des Chasseurs is an exception. The patron is attentive in his service in this remote location decorated curiously with an african theme. The cuisine is traditional french, and tastily prepared. No 'nouvelle cuisine' here, the food is quite rich so you'd... More
