We have stayed at a Chateau just outside Buzancais on a number of occasions over the past years. The L'Hermitage is simply a delight. Set in beautiful gardens, situated just on the outskirts of the town in peaceful surroundings, it is tastefully decorated and popular with the locals. We had dinner here on two evenings. We were offered the choice... More

Buzancais is in the middle of nowhere, but this hotel and restaurant are well worth the visit. We arrived after a lovely visit to Bourges, and were entranced by the garden - full of flowers despite the heat. The dining room was packed, and clearly this little gem is well regarded by its local cognoscenti. Madame supervised the evening, and... More

We've stayed at L'Hermitage about five times now and have never been disappointed. The setting is just perfect, with gorgeous restful beautifully tended gardens and on a summer's evening to be able to eat outside is a real treat. The menu is imaginative, beautifully presented and crucially not very large ensuring that everything is freshly produced. Yes the loo in... More

We stopped off at Buzancais on our way back to Dieppe after eight days in Limoux. We were staying in a local Chauteau for the night and the owner recommended this place (well I think he did! My French is pretty poor). I think he suggested we make a reservation as it was Friday night which I guess we should... More

Very good food, well presented and lots of flavours. Reasonable wine list. We enjoyed it. In the summer one can eat in the part that is glass and with a lovely view.

Guests are afforded a warm, if somewhat formal, reception and ushered into an elegant and well furnished dining room, redolent of an earlier age. The food is similarly elegant and delicious, served discreetly and efficiently by the friendly staff. The prices are a little higher than average in this area but represent good value for money for those meals where... More

We were 'en route' and had lunch here. Be sure to book in advance because the place was 'packed' on just a weekday. Very good value for money. Creative cuisine. We had a wonderfull lunch here, served very pleasantly. Cannot review the hotel, but that would preseumably be nothing special. However, lunch is definately worth a de-tour.

We go to Indre at least twice a year as we have a house there, and have some very good friends in the area too. We always go to L'Hermitage for a final treat, and this time was no exception. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and it's always nice to see Madame greeting all her guests as though... More
