The Old Pub is a privately owned free house in a lovely Somerset village serving good quality, home made produce and reasonable prices. You don't have to believe us - go to our web site to see the most recent menu and prices. We are able to offer smaller portions for the smaller appetite for most dishes (see D symbol on menu). Nice olde World pub

A friendly welcome from the landlord and wife. Three good real ales as members of camera much appreciated. Only had a pint as was driving but well worth visiting this 500 year old pub for a quick or even slow one or three!

The pub has been closed since mid summer...you might want to remove from your listings? Another sad example of the decline of the licensed industry and associated country life

I am fairly certain that this pub has ceased to trade. I drove past just before Christmas 2012 and it was closed then and it remains so. I am surprised at the review dated July 2013. Is this another entry similar to "Oscar's in Brixham"? I apologise if I have got this wrong but I don't think that I have.

Having met friends at the nearby Haynes Motor museum we (a party of 9) called in on the spur of the moment today and were made to feel very welcome despite time fast approaching the end of the advertised period for serving meals. Fantastic food and deserts to die for served by a team of attentive staff in an open... More

Warm and welcoming with a great value menu and even better tasting food, a must to come back to. Roger, Perry and Jerad (the chef) do an excellent job. Our small business group have been using the Old Pub on a regular basis and the food and service has been top notch. Very worthwhile.

One of the best lunches - (especially good on Sundays)in the area. Beautifully presented and very good value! Recommended. The location maybe initially off putting especially when you enter the car park, but the food and service is very good. We have not been there in the evening hence our focus on lunch - but may well soon!

The Old Pub, which underwent substantial refurbishment in recent years, is a Pub Restaurant at Galhampton, close to Castle Cary in South Somerset. The proprietors, Roger & Perry, go out of their way to extend a warm welcome to everyone on arrival and offer friendly and personal service whether customers are there to indulge in one of their (occasionally organised)... First time visit to The Old Pub. A special night for 40 people who were meeting up for a 30 year reunion. The Chef & his staff served us a magnificent 4 course meal. The meal was unhurried & the food plentiful. The waiting staff very attentive. Toilets well maintained & very clean. Ample car parking to the side &... More
