I have lived in the San Diego area for over 50 years, traveled extensively in Mexico, but El Charro in Yuma AZ is absolutely one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. The first time we went was about 3 months ago, wrote a 4 star review for Yelp at that time, but I had obviously only... More

The food is good authentic Mexican food, The people that review this food as bad do so because they have not eaten real authentic Mexican food before and are expecting the Taco Bell taste. This food is great, but is real authentic Mexican food, service is quick and friendly, nice place. We have had both lunch and dinner and both... More

We came on this restaurant while looking for a place to eat the evening of the Christmas parade. The building is nothing fancy but the inside is traditional Mexican. We didn't have a lot of time before the parade so we decided to order something light. My wife ordered the Pollo Azado Mexican Salad and I ordered the Chimichanga. When... More

Sonny Gutierrez has continued the legacy his parents created. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The tomatillo salsa is excellent, don't forget to ask for it. Their giant tortilla with green chile strips is perfect for a party. They don't skimp on their portions. Their chile relleno is more like an omelet but I like that when... More

We thought we'd try this local restaurant because of the history, but the food was terrible. There have only been a couple of times in my life when I didn't want to finish my food after the first bite, but this was one of them. I didn't think it was possible to make a bad tamale, but they added a... More

El Charro has it all--good service, good food and pleasant surroundings. We enjoy eating there often.

I have always found El Charro to be a great place to eat. Perfect spot to bring your out of town friends for a seriously authentic mexican meal. Be hungry and ready to eat nice large portions. The burritos are a challenge to finish off, but i keep eating. Staff is truly friendly and sincere. Location is an easy find... More

We eat here every time we visit Yuma. There is something special about tradition, quality, service and family pride. The burros made with there handmade tortillas are wonderful. The specials are always a good choice. We will keep coming back and enjoying.

My wife and I had our lunch at their Presidio location near downtown Tuscon. We had to wait for 15 minutes to get a table. The service was good and the food that we ordered with the help from our server was the best Mexican we have ever had. Their G charros are out of this world. There is a... More
