Outstanding, up there with the best in New York

Elk! One of the best meals I ever tasted. The best steak restaurants around our country have nothing on the Turquoise Room. I also had Quail, Churro Lamb and native Cassoulet and cleaned the plate, it was that good. Hotel and restaurant are separately owned, but together, provide one of the finest places to stay, they are both EXCEPTIONAL!

This restaurant is in the Posada Hotel. It is a little difficult to find, as we found it by accident. The restaurant is of southwest decor as well as the food. You have to try the Signature Soup it was the best soup I have ever had, no lie. You can see my review for The Posada Hotel as well.

We had breakfast and dinner while we stayed here. Both were exceptional. The service was great. The prime rib was probably the best I've ever had.

We had two breakfasts and two dinners here. Our servers were Erin, Sharon, David, and Jerod all of whom were very efficient and competent and friendly. The food was terrific at all times with the only minor blemish being my steak being a little too pink for being medium. But it tasted great and was very tender. Dinners are pricey... More

This is one of the best meals I've ever had. It's also in an amazing hotel with an incredible history and located in a beautiful oasis - in a town you probably wouldn't think of stopping in and spending the night normally. Literally an oasis in the desert - I would recommend spending the night as well so you can... More

Housed in the lovely and historic La Posada Hotel, the Turquoise Room is a culinary gem. We greatly enjoyed breakfast and dinner, which elevated what could have been ordinary menu items to gourmet. I suppose the waffles and pancakes are fine, but go for the baked egg selection. I choose Corn Maiden's Delight, your choice of egg with spinach and... More

We ate dinner here both nights of our stay. The first night I had the elk medallions and my wife had the shrimp and pasta dinner. Both were excellent. The elk was so tender and did not have a wild game taste even though they are supposedly free ranging. The second nights stay my wife the bacon wrapped fillet while... More

The weekly specials offered some interesting choices. Elk was excellent, lamb three ways a bit less so. The wine list is good. Only compliant was that chef couldn't manage to get a hot appetizer and salad out at the same time--strangely my wife's hot appetizer arrived five minutes before my salad.

I had the churro lamb posole that was nicely flavored and a Route 66 Marguerita. Both were outstanding and the service was excellent. i enjoyed the atmosphere and the building decor. Highly recommend!
