Wow!!

An absolute favorite of mine. This amazing place literally in the middle of nowhere competes with many other fine establishments in major cities. Chef Sharpe does an amazing job with the local ingredients/produce/etc. for a flavorful menu. I ate every meal here for a 3-night stay, trying... read more

Chef Sharpe does an amazing job with the local ingredients/produce/etc. for a flavorful menu. The restaurant in the hotel is not your typical hotel restaurant. The food choices offer you an experience in dining not found often. The room is wonderful and the service great.

We ate during the mid afternoon, the Travellers Menu. Everything we had was outstanding. Best burger best aoli sauce for the burger and fries, best chicken Caesar and best walnut studded brownie with coffee sorbet and double espresso. Well worth a detour from I 40. The chef has won many awards

In La Posada Hotel, unpretentious and comfortable. The menu is surprisingly innovative, and we shared an appetizer of a native bread (piki bread) with a hummus made of beans and corn with sunflower seeds. The piki bread is paper thin and crisp; it comes rolled up. The hummus was very good. Lamb three ways was delicious, the chop was cooked... More

Pre booked a table based on trip advisor rating and we were not disappointed. Our server was very bubbly and friendly. The menu had a good selection and thankfully it wasn't another load of burgers pizza and fries options. No this place had a chef with imagination and ingredients and thankfully Vegetables!!! Mixed platter starter, lamb trio for main. All... More

What a treat to find a gourmet restaurant in this historic railroad hotel! Before dinner we took a look around the delightful little gift shop through which everyone has to pass upon entering the property designed by Mary Coulter in the twenties, and recently beautifully restored. The artwork throughout the hotel is quite unusual. The rooms, which are upstairs and... More

The food was great, but the costumed greeting really set the pace. After lunch we wandered through the hotel and former train depot viewing the art. Delightful!

Having been to the Turquoise Room several years ago, we decided to try it again. Since it is basically the only restaurant that is not a freeway chain, there are no other options in town. I do enjoy just being in the La Posada Hotel, with its wonderful historic charm, but sometimes a restaurant can take advantage of the situation.... More
