Overpriced

Steak was awesome but everything else was diner quality at premium steakhouse price. Iceberg lettuce, weak coffee, very little beer selection. Service was prompt and friendly. Food came out very quickly!

Before I wrote this review I sent an email to the proprietors of Rod's Steak House and told them of our dissatisfaction with their food. I told them I and others would be writing reviews, but I wanted to write to them first as a courtesy. I did not get a reply. So, on with my review. We had a... More

We arrived to eat about 3:30p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. We were able to choose off the lunch or dinner menu which was nice. I had the lunch prime rib which was bigger than I anticipated it being which was a nice surprise. We had the fried zucchini which was excellent, other than that I think the food was average... More

We stopped in here for dinner after a day of hiking. Great choice. The menu has typical steakhouse choices. The ambiance of the restaurant was great. It was built in 1946 the year I was born. The third owners of the family run restaurant has kept up the tradition of great service and fine food. We both had liver and... More

We wanted a good steak after a day at the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, everything about this place was off. We so wanted to love this place. The front of the place is full of old Route 66 memorabilia. The paper placemats had a long description of the long interesting history of the place. So when the food came, we were... More

Service and staff were excellent. We went with another couple because I had a gift card. The food was average in taste, a little disappointed on my choice - tempura shrimp. Too small of a portion and prices were average. My husband had the NY cut steak but he said it really wasn't a NY cut. Okay to go but... More

I am a steak lover and when I see the words “Steak House” they better live up to that name or just change it to “Rod’s.” I travel all over the country and when it comes to dinning out I expect to enjoy my meals when I am spending big bucks. I do my research when I am in a... More

I had the petit steak and my husband had the beef liver. Both meals were excellent. The staff were really attentive and pleasant. A bit pricey for what we had but the food was good.

We are an elderly couple and asked the waitress to split a steak. This was no problem and we were surprised that theere wass no extra on the check. Steak was still too much for us!

We were exhausted. We wanted a cold beer, something pretty simple for supper but above all - quiet. Salads weren't anything special. We ordered different salad dressings but got the same thing. Hard to tell if either of us got the right thing. The beer wasn't very cold but the food was good. The sugar charred steak was a pleasant... More
