We were traveling with our vegetarian relatives, and therefore were enticed into Sophie's by the "vegetarian" sign outside. We were all (vegetarians and savages alike) very pleased that we did. I guess every visit to a restaurant is unique experience, variations due to which staff is on duty, the mood of the customer, the weather...pretty much everything. I'm sure other... More

Living in California I am exposed to a plethora of Mexican food. This restaurant was by far had the worse food I've ever tasted. First off the salsa on offer had an odd taste to it, the veggies on it, the tomatoes and onions, did not taste fresh at all. I ordered the carne asada burrito with guacamole. The carne... More

Second night in Tusayan. Reviews of steakhouses (I REALLY wanted a steak and a craft brew) made us hesitant to try any of the three in town, so we had Tex-Mex for the second night in a row. (See my review on Bonita's.) Sophie's is head and shoulders the better of the two. Menu is more varied (and vegetarian-friendly), margaritas... More

We were really surprised how good the food was! We expected large - but the portions are actually huge. Service was quick and nice. We have a Vegetarian in our group and she found plenty of choices - which was not always the case on our trip. I can recommend this - especially if you are very hungry. Liked the... More

Food was nice but we were met by sullen waiting staff. We were very surprised by this as most of the restaurant service we receieved in the US was exemplary.

After a morning in the park, we stopped here on our way back to Williams, I really wish I hadn't. We had our 8 month son with us and the first thing we asked for when we arrived was a high chair. Nothing appeared until repeating the request. The menu looks good, I went for a green chile burrito. I'm... More

We were fortunate to spend 3 days at the Grand Canyon with friends who spent years here as park rangers. We ate here one evening near the Grand Canyon south rim in the town of Tusayan and it is the first time that we had been to a mexican restaurant because there are none near us in our home town... It was excellent to have whole section of vegetarian dishes to chose from! that was the reason we chose to go here. We loved the decor as it was bright, colourful and fun with fairy lights and decorations. The food was served quickly and was tasty. The service was fine.

During our trip this past May my husband & I were traveling through Arazonia. We pulled off the highway in Tusayan to look for a place for lunch. I noticed SOPHIE'S in a strip mall. We thought we'd give it a try & walked into a pleasing, but casual atmosphere. The food was outstanding. Very nice service. We highly recommend... More

We were leaving the Grand Canyon after a full day, and we were starving! I remembered this place had a huge "Vegetarian" sign out front, which caught my eye, since my son and I are both vegetarians. A lot of Mexican restaurants make their refried beans with lard, and use chicken stock in their rice. The decor is colorful and... More
