Great food: Great atmosphere

Went here with my boyfriend and another couple for a late lunch. Our server was nice & efficient & timed everything just right. My boyfriend had the Tin Cup Margarita which was good but a bit sweet. I had a Rosas Sangria, which was refreshing. We had grilled Artichoke Hearts for an appetizer & they... read more

The first impression of this restaurant, is a small, inviting bougainvillea-bedecked courtyard you walk through to reach the entrance. With outdoor fireplace, café tables, and flickering lantern, the welcoming spell continues as you step into the romantically-lit, Spanish-style "stable" room, with gorgeous flower arrangement, saltillo tile, mock stable stall booths, rough-hewn furniture and wrought iron & wood chandeliers. This room... More

Unlike the more touristy eateries in Tubac village, Stables serves food that is well above average. We chose to eat on their outdoor (covered) patio, and the view alone is worth a visit. Diners looks out across the lush green fields of the golf course (unlike CA, no worries about water YET in this desert oasis) with the craggy peaks... More

Friends we were visiting in the Green Valley area took us to Stables for lunch during a day of sightseeing. The setting is beautiful -- our table overlooked the lush golf course in the middle of the Arizona desert, wintering ducks enjoying the large pond just off the patio, The menu offered many temptations among the sandwich selections, but eventually... I simply love this spot ! The view and location are always winners. The service not so much. It's a shame new owners haven't spent more time on the details over the past few years. The second restaurant on the property has been closed for sometime now. Drinks at the bar were interesting as it seems there were 10 people... More

One never knows what to expect from the hotels restaurant, always convenient but not always good. This is a welcome change! The food was very good, service very attentive, atmosphere inside and outside comfortable, menu varied, and if you are lucky enough to be there weds nites, 1/2 price on ALL wines. Definately NOT your usual hotel fare. I'd say this is the... More

We had a relaxing lunch here. My husband's meal was excellent while mine was mediocre. His Reuben was thick with meat & sour kraut, & the Jarlsberg cheese was a great deviation from norm. His Caesar salad side was also good. I asked for the "apricot chicken salad" on top of greens rather than on a croissant. They charged me... More

Dinner on a Sat. night and the "joint was jumping". The dining room was well staffed but the tables were so close that we were overwhelmed by the conversations around us. No idea if other diners were annoyed but the food was not the outstanding memory of the evening. Might give it another chance but won't go out of my... More

Love this restaurant and the views are so gorgeous! We always reserve the table outside-it is perfect for this multigenerational family of ours. We ordered wine and beer, watched the cows stroll past and took the opportunity to take some gorgeous photos. There is live music every Friday and Saturday night which is so much fun. The Otero burger is... More
