Poor service!

We stopped here because some folks told the food was good. Well, the food is a little different than most Mexican restaurants but we did find the green chili enchiladas and Pablono chili good. Most of the menu did not interest is like the 12 or so Mole dishes. While, the food was good the service... read more

Went to Elvira's for lunch. My husband had a shrimp dish which he said was very good. It had vegetables included with it. I had a one of their several offerings of chicken in mole sauces. The mole sauce was good but for the lunch price ($18.95) I expected more than just chicken and rice on my plate. I also... More

Went to Elvira's for lunch about a week ago. We were seated right away, around noon and walked out at 1:55pm. Took about 10 minutes for a waiter to ask for our drink order (we did get chips and salsa right away from other servers who were not waiters/waitresses?). Took about another 10 minutes to get 2 sodas. Took about... More

Had a wonderful meal at Elvira's the Friday nite before Valentine's Day. The mole chicken and the Frido Kahlo were both excellent and very unique dishes. The place had energy and just rocked...in a very good way. The band was also very good except they quit at 9PM..:-( And the margueritas were outstanding. All in all, a very enjoyable and... More

What a great place in Tubac to go for dinner. Food was fantastic and a great selection. The ambience was over the top. Loved the décor and art work. Must have an Elvira tequila shot (only 50 cents) with each entre. Delicious tequila ! Would go there again in a heart beat....loved it.

We visit here every time we are in Tucson. The food is very well prepared and the seafood dishes have always been fresh as can be. Just because it's "Mexican food" doesn't mean it's not a great dining experience. It is well worth what they are charging folks. You get what you pay for! The house Margaritas are crisp and... More

The evening did not start well. They had lost our reservation on a Saturday night. Had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. Didn't notice until later that all the surrounding tables had complimentary chips and salsa. We didn't. Everyone comments on the decor. It is something special with all the glistening glass tear drops hanging from the ceiling.... More

We spent a lovely Friday evening at Elvira's. The decor and atmosphere are top notch. The staff were very professional and ably described various dishes on the menu. The food was served promply, hot and delicious! The Band was most enjoyable and just at the right level to allow conversation at the table. I made a reservation and will do... More

Dining at Elvira's whether for lunch, a drink, or dinner, you must not pass this one up. From the warm reception to the final sweet dish, you will not be disappointed. The staff are very pleasant and the food is well selected and prepared without any short cuts. Enjoy!

We were visiting my brother and sister-in-law who recently re-located to the Rio Rico area from Northern California and wanted to treat them to a special night out in appreciation for the their hospitality and touring us around their new environment. We looked at our favorite sites and Elviras quickly rose to the top of the heap. One thing that... More
