Delicious!

Four of us stopped here for lunch on a recent day trip down from Tucson. Our friends who live in the area had eaten here before and so recommended it. The food was really outstanding, and the service great. Prices were a bit high, but they did bring us a shot of tequila each for 50 cents apiece... read more

Wow! We were here several years ago and had a wonderful experience. This time it was pathetic. Don't go when it is busy-first suggestion. Second suggestion-don't even walk in the place if you are vegetarian. Third suggestion -bring a flashlight and a book. Service was the worst ever.. We were there on a Sunday-must have been after church because it... More

I ate lunch today at Elvira's. I was greatly poking forward to it. The Pros: The menu had lots of interesting things, it was hard to make up my mind. The entree was good and the restaurant attractive. The Con's: I waited for over 15 minutes for my waiter to even stop at my table and say he'd bring me... More

We have eaten here three times in the last month with three sets of visiting relatives. The food is always very good. My personal favorites are chicken quesadillas and chicken enchiladas. My husband always orders the same thing - Cabrilla Salsa Verde. He loves it. It's really wonderful. All our guests who have ordered it on his recommendation agreed it... More

One of the two best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten in. Elvira's has a selection of moles that will amaze.

The atmosphere and ambiance is really cool. The food is very tasty but it is overpriced. Margaritas are outstanding, especially on the patio when the weather is nice. The only thing keeping me from going more often is cost of the meal

We ate lunch here and were drawn in by the interesting and eclectic look of the place. Part store and part restaurant, we weren't sure if we were entering in the right location. The menu for those of us midwesterners was a bit difficult to decipher, but our food was hot and good, although definitely not amazing and worth the... More

This is my husband's favorite restaurant in southern Arizona. We have been several times for lunch and this was our fourth dinner experience (we are in Tucson only 4-5 months a year and DO eat at home on occasion!). Every time it seems to just get better. Chef Ruben Monroy's flair and passion for creative fine dining is boundless. We... More

Delicious authentic Mexican cuisine in a fabulous setting. Superb experience that we'd love to do again.

Elvira’s is a very interesting place. First of all, to have a successful restaurant in Tubac, one that has been in existence for any length of time, says a lot (the original was in Nogales.) Elvira’s is such a place. Tubac isn’t really a “destination”. It’s just north of Nogales, Mexico, and has a population of less than 2,000 residents.... More
