The food was great! best burger I've had in a while, including those in the states. The fries and secret sauce were amazing! Cute resident dog and lovely and fabulous staff! check the hours as they are open limited hours. and there isn't any beer, but the food more than makes up for that. plus an ice cold cola is... More

They even have a lovely veggie burger. We would definitely go back. Just one thing, don't put that much salt in yodur fries and they will be perfect!

Seriously, its huge...and we ate all of it! And here I was worried about not getting a decent burger in Costa Rica, I stand corrected! My husband and I had no intentions on eating red meat on this trip (we're selective vegetarians), but after we met a few travelers who insisted on us trying the Refuge, we had too! Owned... More

OMG! If you want a GREAT burger, this is the place to go!! They are absolutely HUGE!! I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing!! Beats any burger I've ever eaten in the States. Plus the views and people are amazing! You have to have a smoothie with your burger!! It was big enough to share! Can't say enough good... More

Been surfing throughout Costa Rica. Not simply the best burgers in Dominical, this is the best burger in Costa Rica. The owners, Mike and Starla are super friendly. The setting is relaxed and you look out at the ocean from the restaurant. The burgers take their time to arrive, but it is worth the wait and you'll leave with a... More

What a Burger and of all place's, you wouldn't expect it, off the beaten track. I feel it beats Red Robin (famous for their burgers) hands down and fries are to die for. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by the excellent quality and quanity. Oh, and their smooties are great too!

This place is great. Very big, very good burgers. The owners are super nice and it's right on the beach. It's a great place for lunch, surf lessons, board rentals and good company. If your in Dominical you have to stop in here before you leave.

"The Refuge" has the best burger and smoothies in the area and maybe Costa Rica. This also is a surfer hostel, and a safe place for young people to stay. The owner is also a pastor and has church on Sundays. What's better then the Bible and a Burger.

This is a nice little burger place owned by some friendly Americans from California. Their burgers are seriously amazing... and huge! I had the Maui which is topped with delicious guacamole and also tried their fish tacos with mango salsa which were delicious as well. The place has a nice, family and surfer friendly atmosphere, it's just inland from the... More
