Believe me this is the closest you'll get in the Phoenix area without spending $450+ to fly to NY. the Decore could be better but the food makes up for it. The rueben pastrami sandwich was good, it had saurkraut, thousand island ( could have used more) and cole slaw on it. Loaded with lots of meat, I had to... More

Has a deli there too that you can take home food. Always have pickles on the table and they go out of their way to make things right

This is a great NY style delicatessen. I have eaten here on 5 occasions over the past 4 years. This NY Deli is delicious. The Jewish Sliders are amazing. I have also had the BBQ Sliders... but the Jewish Sliders are mouth-wateringly delicious. The key is the potato pancake. There is a reason why Man vs. Food did an episode... More

I saw Chompies on a TV show and was thrilled to be visiting Arizona so i could visit one. I was sadly mistake. The menus were sticky and wet. The place itself looks nice on the outside, but dark and outdated in the inside. We asked one of the waitresses (because we had 2, maybe 1 was in training) about... More

Went here with two co-workers for lunch and enjoyed a really good meal. I had the Jewish Sliders since they were featured on Man vs Food and I was not disappointed. They were AMAZING! One of my co-workers had Western Sliders and the other had a turkey salad which he raved about. An overwhelming selection and large portion sizes should... More

I'll preface this review with the fact that I'm from New York City. Finding a Jewishesk Deli outside of NYC with the taste and quality one becomes accustomed to is all but improbable. That being said, I loved the traditional brisket/latkah mini slider Chompies in Tempe (not the Chompies in Phoenix) served. Yes, there is a difference between the two... More

We were guest of a young couple as a thank you gift. Not knowing what to expect when westerners recommend NY deli food....well, it was super! The entrance opens onto an incredible take out deli....I couldn't resist the Jewish style rye and a very hearty whole grain bread. OMG....Soooo good...I continued to pursue it thru out our 2 month stay... More

If you haven't heard or or eaten the Jewish Sliders (Featured on Man vs. Food), you are missing out. But the best thing about this restaurant is the menu as a whole. Everything I have tried from sliders to Clam Chowder soup, to a gluten-free smoked salmon BLT pita has been delicious. Plus there is a delicious bakery conveniently located... More

The glory days of the Jewish Deli are alive and well at Chompies. More than generous portions. Wish the bread on my sandwich was a little fresher.
