Fast and tasty

Nothing more than basic southern food to fill up. I tasted some pasta with chicken and it was OK. Complimentary corn bread was also quite tasty. Service was ok-ish and quite fast. Good option for the price

We ordered the Tejas Trio for an appetizer. The chile con queso was delicious. I ordered the baked seafood enchilada with rice and beans. I thought it was very good. Others ordered the steak burrito and also thought the food was very good. The service was lacking, even though it was a Monday evening and not busy. We had to... More

This place offers an excellent happy hour from 3-7pm! We had $5 frozen margs (which do have a good amount of booze in them), followed with some delicious chips, guac, and queso. We stayed for dinner and had a great time with the staff. I wanted to take the tankard from my Tejas Mule but was instead offered a pin... More

Walking around Mill Street trying to find something other than a pub or a chain restaurant can be a challenge. Z'Tejas is different. Looks a bit upscale from the outside but on the inside the atmosphere felt fresh and casual and the prices were reasonable. The menu offered a good variety of Mexican and southwest dishes. The food was well... More

14 friends gathered in Tempe for spring training. They were able to get us all a table at 7 pm in a very busy season. The service was excellent with two servers assigned; plus back-up from runners. The food was really good and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere; valet parking right out from and close to a parking garage. Really good... More

The close proximity to ASU makes this a great location to meet with friend for fajitas, brothers for burritos or exes for enchiladas. The outdoor seating provides for a street cafe atmosphere and the indoor seating is more like a sports bar. The food is imaginative and Tasty. Service was excellent.

Went with business associates during happy hour. Margaritas were OK - not great - perhaps even a bit below average in taste and selection. Some of us really enjoyed our meals - highly recommend the chile relleno with chicken - but other did not enjoy. Staff were college kids that seemed pretty confused as times with the seating. All-in-all we... More

I stopped in after reading reviews on how to best fend off my Mexican food craving. The restaurant was just a short walk from my hotel. I sat outside and had a great server - her name was Andi - very helpful on what to choose and attentive. I ended up with the barbacoa enchiladas and they were good -... More

Good Service in the restaurant. Food was good and they accommodated special requests. We were from out of town and had the valet park our car. Nobody told us we needed to have the ticket validated and the valet gave us a hard time when we went to leave.
